From 74-76 I served with the Electronic Proving Ground, Ft. Huachuca after an 18 month tour to the STRATCOM Facility in Tehran. Geekie toys were abound in our place as well. USAEPG was under the same Materials Command and that was the last patch I wore on my shoulder.

Thanks!

Had a fairly good day, thanks! I'm on Fentanyl trans-dermal for pain - it seems to be making a difference. We had a blessed event the other night - Clementine, our youngest cat, delivered a litter of five kittens - all are doing well!

It was my pleasure and I would do it again in a heartbeat. As I grew up as an Army Brat, I only had two years as an actual civilian and it was like I was back home again. My Drill Sergent actually had my dad as his Drill Sergent. The guys in my platoon never figured out why I was having so much fun!

The one thing it did was to prepare me for my career as a Design Engineer in addition to laying the groundwork in electronics to my “fun job” as a racing car data acquisition specialist. Most people today don’t understand when I say I am retired.

Good evening to you, Mooch. It’s been mostly raining the last couple weeks. Sun usually comes out a little each day, but back to rain. I love watching it when I’m home.

Did you ever get some not too hot nice weather?

Editing something interesting?

Good afternoon and Aloha, Hawaii...((HUGS))...sun today? Any good news in the world? Any relatives in the hurricane zone?

We had midday sun again. Rained all the way to work and most of the morning.

This summer has been humid, humid, humid. Hope I won’t need my AC past Labor Day.

Just completed a library hewsletter. Supposed to review a book on religous figures, but it’s on back burner till the rabbi/publisher gets back from vacation. Meanwhile, I’m just reading, reading, reading. (One reason that I’m on here less frequently.)

THE SOLDIER’S CODE

Gen Dwight D. Eisenhower addresses troops of the 101st Airborne Division 5Jun1944 prior to D-Day Normandy

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.
