For in-depth polling analysis, I defer to my colleague Mike Flynn. This latest poll out of Iowa, however, is noteworthy because what you have is the same pollster using the same polling methods and finding Obama's standing in that crucial swing state collapsing fast.
Just a few months ago, back in May, according to Democratic pollster Public Policy Polling, President Obama held a commanding 51-41% lead over Mitt Romney. What was especially notable is that Obama was over the all-important 50% mark. This is crucial for an incumbent, because undecideds historically go with the challenger.
Two months later, though, in July, Obama's lead fell in the PPP poll to just five points, 48-43%.
Today, one month later, both men are statistically tied with Obama besting Romney by only two points, 47-45%.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Rasmussen released a poll showing Romney up 2 in Iowa.
In 2008, Obama won Iowa by almost 10 points.

I live in MN and I do not see very many Obama signs at all. Perhaps have seen 2 cars with Obama bumper stickers on them.
Not seeing many Romney ones either, but central MN has been conservative for some time now, and I expect to see many cars with Romney/Ryan signs after this week.
In 2010 our state rejected the Democratic candidates big time. The GOP took over the MN House and Senate! The labor intensive Iron Range (NE MN) rejected their long term US Rep, Jim Oberstar, in favor of a GOP candidate. For that reason, I actually have a miniscule hope that finally MN may be carried by the GOP in the Presidential race.
Next week’s DNC convention in Charleston, SC will be an eye-opener for many voters. They will be crowning Sandra Fluke and the GLBT caucus as well as honoring the Muslims with prayer services. It may tip the scales BIG TIME against these usurpers who have taken over our grandparents’ Democrat party. Four days of hearing about a phony war on women, and their sacrament of abortion, yammering about being a victim if they do not get their free condoms, pills, etc. is vulgar during a time of high unemployment. Young college graduates are moving back into Mom and Dad’s home, are relying on their health insurance policy until 26 years, etc.
Obama hasn’t a clue. He thinks he can get up and tell them that Romney will take away their parent’s umbrella of health insurance - while in reality, these folks would rather have a job than live off of the parents.
I live in NYC and it went over very well. my leftist moonbat friends, the very very few left, still complain when i post that on my facebook claiming he is right and was out of context.

Obama was here in Iowa yesterday again, and he has two more stops here planned in the next few days.
I am now up to 15 people I know that are not voting for Obama a second time. I still have not met anyone who voted for McCain who is now planning to vote for Obama.
He is trying to get college students hoodwinked into replacing his lost voters by selling them cheap college and free healthcare.
I truly believe he has lost Iowa.
Liberal friend of mine is in panic mode in Davenport, IA. Never thought I’d see it. She’s going door to door registering voters. And will probably do drive-bys to take them to the polls.
I have a good friend who is a real fire breathing lefty and she recently said that she will not vote this year. Obama’s toast.
Yep. A person that, in the end, does not vote at all, will still give an answer in a poll, sometimes even identifying himself as a likely voter.
And that is the problem obama has this time. It’s not getting most of the voters behind him. Rather, it is trying to inspire the voters who would vote “against” Romney to actually vote.
And it is a HUGE problem. A lot of people on both sides who are disenchanted with their party’s guy, but will NEVER vote for the other party, are who both parties are trying to get off their butts.
Romney will have much more success.

Seriously, I think people are going to wake up and see that the Dems are RUINING the USA, before election day.

It’s in Charlotte, NC - at the BANK OF AMERICA stadium. Of course those insidious Dems have renamed the stadium to “Panthers Stadium” for this event. That name does not even exist! No doubt the corrupt MSM will go along with this charade.
