Rush Limbaugh slammed Karl Rove on Wednesday and said he was “literally going insane” over GOP strategists’ advice that the party not attack President Barack Obama during their convention.
“Do you want to talk about the overall tone of the convention?” Limbaugh facetiously asked his radio show audience. “Do you want me to say, ‘My gosh, what a bunch of wimps. Don’t even have the guts to mention Obama’s name. Christie didn’t have the guts to mention his name?’ Do you want me to tell you how this bunch seems to be afraid to be critical of a party that’s destroying the country? Or do you agree with the party, ‘No, we don’t need to mention that because everybody already knows it and we’re trying to attract swing voters, and they don’t want to hear that stuff?’”
The conservative talker signaled out Karl Rove, the Bush administration political guru who leads several outside spending groups, and Ed Rollins, who managed Rep. Michele Bachmann’s failed GOP primary bid this year, for criticism.
Rollins said on Fox News that ignoring Obama’s record was “the perfect way to go” since most voters are already familiar with it. Rove agreed with Democratic strategist Joe Trippi when he made a similar statement.
“Where was the beef?” Limbaugh implored. “Where was the red meat? There wasn’t any. Everybody doesn’t know about Obama’s terrible record! I’m gonna tell you something. Mr. Rollins, if everybody knew Obama’s record, he’d be down 20 points.”

Yep. Limbaugh’s right. I listened to christie on radio and said we’ve lost. Christie should have been attacking obama. .
but one thing about Karl Rove, he knows how to win elections.
To what ends? His candidate spent the last three years in office hunkered down in the Whitehouse as the media destroyed him.

I heard a bit of Rush today. He was particularly cutting when mentioning that 4 years ago, the McCain campaign forbid the use of BO’s middle-name “Hussein”... and now, apparently the Romney campaign is taking it further by forbidding BO’s first and last names.
Indeed, the theme of the convention is supposedly “Obama is a nice guy, just a little out of his depth.” Could this whole thing be any more... metrosexual?

I was in the car listening to Christie with a patriot friend so we couldn’t see his body language.
But we were psyched for an obliterating knock out punch from Christie. At first, I was like “Oh that was good”. yeah, woulda been “good” for somone else who isn’t supposed to be our pet pitbull.
I heard Christie’s talk was revised at the last minute because of the storm. WTH?
I disagree. The win over Gore was incredible IMO. Following a decent economy+balanced budget, the incumbent vice president gets shot down by a political dynasty member? It would be like GHWB losing after Reagan. Almost impossible.

I agree. This Convention is to introduce the REAL Mitt Romney, family man, man of high morals, generous to his fellow man, loving and supportive husband. In short to humanize him and repair the damage done by the attacks made against him.
Secondly it is to lay out his vision for the future of the country. I believe Christie and even Ann Romney highlighted the failures of the current Adninistration without ever having to mention Obama's name.
What til he hears what Romney’s sister just said about Mitt not ever going to prohibit abortion. She claimed he was pro-choice.

When I listen to liberals begin to trash conservatives, I shut down. Its like when my wife starts taking me to task. I mostly stop listening.
However, I will listen very carefully to what liberals say they want to do. Same with my wife, when she is done taking me to task I listen real carefully to what she says she is going to do.
So maybe Rove is right.
Romney and Obama may not live in the same house but they definitely live in the same neighborhood.

Romney: "Obama is a Socialist, I however am less Socialist than he is." So on and so forth...
No Limbaugh is wrong and it is patently ridiculous to claim an election was “lost” because a speaker wasn’t being nasty enough to the opposition.
Don’t worry, Rush, it’s going to get nasty in the last 60 days. Romney has proven he can get worked up when needed. Perhaps he’s playing a little rope a dope?
Remember - the guy won in freakin’ Massachusetts. He’s shown he can win a tough election.
