'Borrowed, Spent, and Wasted': Rock Star Ryan Hammers Obama's Record (Transcript)
Breitbart.com ^ | 8/29/2012 | Ben Shapiro

Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s running mate, was treated as a rock star tonight at the Republican National Convention – and for good reason.

His soft-spoken manner played intimately, even in an arena of 22,000. When protesters began chanting against Ryan, the crowd drowned them out with thunderous applause. Ryan brought fire to a campaign lacking in it – and he also brought credibility on serious issues.

Democrats will have a significant problem painting Ryan as unsympathetic or insincere. Tonight showed why.

I’ve forgotten....was Janesville GM closed despite Obie’s promise ?

Sure sounds like it based on Ryan's speech. Another nail in Obama's coffin - at least in Wisconsin.

Yes, though the timing is argued. The plant closed in December of 2008 according to Dems. According to Repubs it stopped producing cars but continued to produce trucks until June of 2009, on Obama’s watch.

Either way, it closed.

Paul Ryan BLEW MY MIND with his speech!

I mean, I am not kidding, I am at a loss for words to describe just how ****ing awesome it was!

Two things.

He brought tears my my eyes out of love for my country.

Also, the man loves his mom. That’s really all I need to know. If a man can’t love his mom, the he can’t love.

I have a feeling Obama doesn’t love his mom, in fact, I know he doesn’t.

But to Hell with him, Ryan was just stellar :D

“It is UNAMERICAN to have money in Cayman Island bank accounts.”

It’s very American and there’s nothing wrong with it at all.

And no, I don’t have any money there. I wish I did though, as well as a lot of other places.

One of my favorite lines: "College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life."

That line Ryan said sums everything WRONG with President Obama like no other. It will become one heck of a campaign slogan, to say the least.

Mittens is going to have a hard time following Ryan from where I sit.

The first guy named George Bush gave the worst acceptance speech in recent memory with that thousand points of light speech and his Clint Eastwood promise "Read my lips, no new taxes" when he was lying through his teeth. But as bad as that speech was he was following Dan Quayle who I am sure gave a forgettable speech as he was a forgettable vice-president.

Ryan gave a great speech for the same reason Palin gave a great speech, they were not political hacks who had given any national convention speeches of any length and they were surprise picks who had not been overcoached and they came across natural.

Mittens will probably come across as honest and sincere as some has been celebrity pitching a CD collection for Time-Life records.

I’m surprised that no one on here yet has mentioned Gov. Pawlenty’s speech, or Gov. Martinez’s speech? Both were very good and engaging; at least in my view! Pawlenty pleasantly surprised me, in that he was ragging on Mr. Obama with a smile on his face! Did anyone else see/hear this? He sometimes seems to be too nice, too staid. However, he blasted the administration, and did it in a polite and humorous way, and was fearless!

I know my lovely, single, 35-year-old daughter was in love when she saw him and heard him speak! She knows he’s happily married w/children, but that didn’t keep her from gawking at the screen when he came on to speak anyway. She said she hoped he and Romney would win, because Congressman Ryan was really cute!

I admire an American whose name first name was George and whose last name was Washington and there are some like yourself who admire an American citizen whose allegiance is not to this nation but to the NWO and whose first name is George and whose last name is Soros, who does has a lot of money, and who has a lot of money everywhere which is why he is referred to as a Globalist.

The fading poster line was one of the best in political history.

I agree - and not just from the unemployed grads’ standpoint. There are a lot of parents wondering when their little darlings are gonna get out on their own.

I wish him the best of success. Halting obastard is JOB #1.

You don’t reverse a truck without stopping it first. That may be all Mittens does. Turning things around may be a job for the next generation, not a Boomer.

That’s nothing; I know a bunch of bands that would make his head explode. In both good and bad ways.

I've been following Ryan's career for a few years now.

But I only recently found out he listened to Led Zeppelin.

That's my favorite band. Just another reason to like the guy.

I like this one:

“President Obama is the kind of politician who puts promises on the record, and then calls that the record.”
