——— I believe she’ll be endorsed by McCain as his successor when he retires-——

I somehow thought that was Megan’s future. I hope you are right though

I also think that she'll run for the Senate as an Arizonian. I believe she'll be endorsed by McCain as his successor when he retires, probably after he completes his present term. I think this is why she's describing him in such glowing terms these days.

Good thinking, MinuteGal!

This is what I think will happen. I don’t see the big deal about Clint Eastwood, frankly.

This is a repost as it was intended to be posted on this thread not the one which it was posted.

My response was not so much against Clint Eastwood but what Eastwood's appearance represents.

When Team Mittens and the GOPe makes a concerted effort to keep the tough talking testosterone of the Tea Party off the stage in Tampa, they set themselves up for the sardonic ridicule embodied in my post.

They wanted some testosterone so they called in an eighty year old Hollywood icon to supply the much needed testosterone, but as honorable and decent a guy as Eastwood may be, his toughness comes from Hollywood scripts not from political warfare.

Team Mittens gives us a Hollywood icon while completely dismissing the Tea Party testosterone of Sarah Palin.

Attempting to replace the Tea Party testosterone that could have been provided by a real warrior named Sarah Palin is just plain cynical, and plays anyone taking this Ward and June Cleaver informerical seriously for a fool.

No one in my memory has been as viciously attacked as Sarah Palin. Sarah unlike Team Mittens is not testosterone challenged and she has always fought the good fight.

She never was a political insider even in her own state. She took on that GOPe bridge to nowhere crowd in her home state and sent them packing.

he isn’t sitting on his lazy ass and pontificating on his computer

Maybe as Curly Joe said, I resemble that remark.

But I would rather be pontificating than to have drank the GOPe kool-aid and be cheerleading and celebrating the eighty year old testosterone of a Hollywood icon as if it somehow mitigates the travesty of ignoring Sarah Palin whose testosterone is not fictional but real.

Not only is Sarah being dismissed by the GOPe, Drudge had up a Facebook post from Sarah on his website last night that Faux News which is the propaganda arm of the GOPe had cancelled her scheduled interviews on the cable channel for the night.

I bet Karl Rove wasn't cancelled.

To paraphrase a quote from a Jack Nicholson film, "You can't handle the truth." To Team Mittens, Karl Rove and GOPe, I say you had better discount and ignore Sarah Palin, because "You cannot handle her Tea Party testosterone."

If she does this, I’m all for her. I think she’d be a great senator. However, something tells me that she does not want to be a team player again-—in the best sense of the term-—and prefers to have the mantle of the “outsider” who, “if there weren’t forces conspiring against her,” could achieve greatness. As senator, she’s one of 100-—and a junior senator to Flake at that. But as “Sarah,” she’s always “available” as the great alternative to whomever is in there.

Eastwood is about 10000 times more famous and likely to make an impact than the kid from Growing Pains.

I don’t want Eastwood replaced. Just add Kirk Cameron for 10 minutes to get the Gen X folks.

If Clint Eastwood doesn’t fire you up, then your brain pan done buckled in. I bet you “didn’t cry when Old Yeller died and you wasn’t a John Wayne fan.”

“I was hoping for Nancy Reagan”

For sentimentality, that would be OK. However, I don’t believe she’s ever been a conservative, or even very political. I felt she was involved tangentially in politics because (1) she loved her “Ronnie”, and (2) she liked the exciting life that he gave her. There’s nothing wrong with that, and it’s sweet to see that connection.

Eastwood may or may not be conservative. In today’s culture, vacuous idiots take as gospel words coming out of actors’ mouths. His input could help in that regard. I’m thinking “whatever it takes” to remove Obama.

Nancy was the one responsible for Ronald becoming a Republican. She was always a die-hard Republican.

“I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”

-The 2012 Republican National Convention is not about Sarah Palin -

- It is about focusing attention in a productive way on the team that will boot “maybe a little blow” Obama out of the White House and getting America back on track and out of the hands of the radical left democrats.....

- Ego and who we each “like” or “admire” takes a back seat to saving America from a creepy shadow that intends to complete his mission to “transform” America into Kenya while dividing his time between bad golf and pansy basketball.

This guy?

President Obama’s ad-makers may have to pay royalties to Clint Eastwood after a remarkable two-minute Chrysler commercial that aired on the biggest of all stages - the Super Bowl - and gave a pretty good preview of what the president's reelection commercials might look like. At the very least, the ad and Eastwood's powerful narration make it much, much more difficult for Republican front-runner Mitt Romney to keep pushing his line that Washington should have let the automakers go into bankruptcy.

"But as 'Sarah' she's always 'available' as the great alternative to whomevever is in there."

Being a "great alternative" sounds good, but it isn't a very weighty job description nor does it put food on the table. She has kids to put through college and her husband's work and income is not all that clear to me.

I have great respect for Sarah's independence, a lot of us are like her in that respect. But if she wants to remain a political force, being a perpetual utility infielder won't do the trick. She will need cachet, some kind of office or title or job or appointment or position with authority.

Does anyone actually have any idea what she should do other than be a "great alternative" (?) forever hovering in the wings as a sort of one-woman shadow government?

A senatorship would fill her bill perfectly. I really see few alternatives open to her other than some kind of elective office.

A run for the Senate would be her cup of tea. I can see Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid 's head imploding with the thought of Palin smiling at him from the front row in that august chamber on the Potomac, hah!

I doubt that Sarah would have any trouble paying for her kids’ education. I imagine she is quite well off, and good for her.
