Journalism: If media "fact checkers" are just impartial guardians of the truth, how come they got their own facts wrong about Paul Ryan's speech, and did so in a way that helped President Obama's re-election effort?
Case in point was the rush of "fact check" stories claiming Ryan misled when he talked about a shuttered auto plant in his home state.
Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler posted a piece "Ryan misleads on GM plant closing in hometown" saying Ryan "appeared to suggest" that Obama was responsible for the closure of a GM plant in Janesville, Wis.
"That's not true," Kessler said. "The plant was closed in December 2008, before Obama was sworn in."
What's not true are Kessler's "facts.

The Democrats will lie and the media will swear to it.
Only a damned fool listens to anything the media say’s.
They are not journalists, they are Obama’s propaganda machine.Hitler never had it so good.
Correction, Hitler did have it that good and that is why he was able to ultimately do what he did. The first fatality was the truth. Thank God that we have the alternative media to counter this despot by the name of Obama.
The DNC faxes over the “facts” to the media immediately and w/o verifying anything because, well, its their buddies in the DNC, the media starts claiming “The fact checkers...blah blah blah”.
These “Fact Checkers” are just another propaganda manifestation of the left. First they come on the scene like Politico and do a fairly decent job of outing BS. Then as we have seen recently, when the heat goes up in the campaign kitchen, so does their credibility and objectiveness in the opposite direction.
No thanks “Fact Checkers”, I will still rely upon my own investigative skills.
Speaking of “facts”, what about those “literary constructs” the Bloviator-in-Chief is so fond of?
As Rush is fond of saying, most of the corrupt, biased, sycophant, Lame Stream Media are nothing but White Hut “Stenographers.”

“That's not true,” Kessler said. “The plant was closed in December 2008, before Obama was sworn in.”
What's not true are Kessler’s “facts.” Ryan didn't suggest Obama was responsible for shuttering the plant. Instead, he correctly noted that Obama promised during the campaign that the troubled plant “will be here for another hundred years” if his policies were enacted.
Also, the plant didn't close in December 2008. It was still producing cars until April 2009.
An AP “fact check” also claimed that “the plant halted production in December 2008” even though the AP itself reported in April 2009 that the plant was only then “closing for good
While channel surfing, I caught a female newsreader on CNN claiming that factchecking showed something in Ryan’s speech was wrong.
Noticeable, she did not give any details of what exactly was ‘wrong’. She omitted that, leaving the viewers with the agenda message: Factchecking says Ryan was wrong.
except no one knows the truth
This article was great because it fact-check’s the fact-checkers and shows up Dems as the fact checking liars. I already threw it back at a Dem.
The medicare/deficit back and forth finger pointing is not as clear because both sides are hiding behind the medicare trust fund. When you realize the gubment has no fund except IOUs that get redeemed by adding to the 14T debt (really 11T because those funds are including in the debt figures)all the back and forth arguments about saving and robbing the fund become meaningless.
If the trust funds are solvent why are they considered national debt?
” f the trust funds are solvent why are they considered national debt? “
Aha! Folks, we have a winner!
You Lie!!!

Nice to have a free press....
LOL!
Thanks sickoflibs.
