Me, too. But it was the kindest of all the cuts. And no one knows better than she how the GOP handles dissidents.

Whatever will the holier-than-thous around here who hate Newt yet rally around crazy Akin do now?
In that light, it's no surprise you missed the point and continue attacking everyone's pro-life credibility because they want Akin gone for the good of the movement, the agenda, the election, the party and the country.
“I understand that Akin is a devout Roman Catholic.”
He’s a Presbyterian. He has an M.A. from Covenant Theological Seminary.
Good legislator.
Shaky politician.
Hope he can overcome the latter.
<>they want Akin gone for the good of the movement, the agenda, the election, the party and the country.<>
Will you hold Karl Rove to the same standard of Hubris that you want to hold Todd Akin???

for the good of the movement, the agenda, the election, the party and the country???
Totally agreed, dear Mach9!
Thank you so much for writing!
p.s.: As to whether Akin's seemingly weird statement about how a rape victim may be spared from pregnancy: As already mentioned, science has nothing relevant to say on this point, since no studies of this issue have ever been done.
All I can say to that fact is: I am a victim of forcible (Akin's calls it "legitimate") rape. And so is my sister. Both of us, back in our 'twenties. A long time ago, with life-changing effects. The point is, neither of us got pregnant.
This is far too small a sample size to be statistically relevant in proving anything about the facts of reproductive biology under the circumstance of forcible rape.
Whatever. I am not the least offended by what Akins said or was trying to say but maybe not so felicitously.
FWIW
Thanks so much, dear BlatherNaut, for setting the record straight!
Whatever his denomination, I regard him as my brother in Christ. And pray God's blessings upon him.
Not to mention that I embrace him as a fellow Tea Partier!
Go, Todd! May you whack the Wicked Witch come November 6th!
Call me crazy. I’ll settle for the former.
He knows how to get others to do his dirty work.
And you are an imaginary Freeper, a so-called Freeper.
Who caused this firestorm, Todd Akin or Karl Rove.
##
Rove by his foaming at the mouth overreaction to a mistake.
No other Tea Party sympathizer ever sat on the couch with Nancy Pelosi! No other Tea Partier has supported Cap & Trade!! No other Tea Partier ever supported a health insurance mandate!!!
Akin needs that money that Rove's group and the Repellican Party were spending on his behalf. Failure is an orphan but success has a thousand fathers. Especially in the political and media controlled arena.
Oh! And no other Tea Partier has published a recent book supporting the stupid green pseudo-philosophy/religion, better known as "GANG-GREEN!"
The longer I live, the more "strange political bedfellows" I finding calling themselves "conservatives," Republicans" and "Tea Partiers" that show any consistency with those philosophical ideals/organizations.
The original Tea Partier was Rick Santelli. His rant on the floor of the CME started it all back in 2009. And the rest is, as they say, history.
You are so absolutely correct!!! Keep up the good and correct memories!!!
Spot on! The Republican establishment has their panties in a twist and are willing to throw the election to that dumb-ass, Claire rather than stand up for a conservative who misspoke.
TKS,
We need to stop eating our young and remember who wants to eat us. OR LOSE!!!!!!
Lots of sheer lunacy on this thread.
As for the Akin dust-up, I strongly agree that it is a tempest in a teapot. If it were Democrat misspeaking, it would be a dead issue.
