Carney: Obama Louisiana trip planned before Romney's
Politico ^ | August 31, 2012 | Reid J. Epstein

FORT BLISS, Texas -- President Obama was planning to visit storm-stricken Louisiana before GOP rival Mitt Romney announced his plans, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One Friday morning.

Romney's campaign announced his trip to New Orleans -- he is touring areas hit by Hurricane Isaac this afternoon -- hours before the White House announced Obama would cancel a planned Monday campaign event in Cleveland to divert to Louisiana.

Carney offered no details about where in Louisiana Obama would travel during his Monday trip.

"In terms of the President's travel, obviously when you're president of the United States, coordinating travel carries with it I think unique logistical challenges," Carney said. "And it was the assessment of the president's team, working with all the people involved in operations as well as people on the ground that Monday would be -- was a good day for the president to visit."

That’s funny right there——Looks like all Romney has to do to get Obamuzzie off his golfing duff is to announce his plan to actually do something. Can we call the tOTUS “Mr. Me Too”?

Remember when McCain spoke about the braclet he wore of a POW/MIA.

Within a week Obama was saying I got a bracelet too, and then said it got it from the MIA himself, they quickly corrected himself saying he got it from his parents.

The Empty Chair In Chief(That name fits Obama PERFECTLY!) decided to go to Louisiana because Romney is going today and it would make him look really bad if he didn’t go. Its not like Obama cares about Louisiana anyway, its a red state, not even a swing state, if it was he would have been there days ago

Neither one ought to be there. It does nothing but clog up the roads and airports just for a photo op.

In most cases, I would agree with you. However, Romney is tagging along with Governor Jindal as he and the experts with him decide how to respond. Jindal has been right in the thick of this storm, looking for places that the state can help. I may not like Romney's politics, but this is a case where I give him kudos. He gets to make his political appearance when it still matters. Zero shows up after the aid and work are in place.
