Washington, D.C. -- Senator Reid released the following statement on the visit by Governor Mitt Romney to survey the damage from Hurricane Isaac in Louisiana:
Under a Romney-Ryan administration, we would not have been prepared to respond to Hurricane Isaac. If Paul Ryan and his fellow House Republicans had succeeded in blocking disaster relief last fall, there would have been no aid for the victims of Isaac today. And Paul Ryans budget would gut disaster funding, making it much harder to get aid to our fellow Americans in their time of need.
It is the height of hypocrisy for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to make a pretense of showing sympathy for the victims of Hurricane Isaac when their policies would leave those affected by this disaster stranded and on their own.
This is yet another example of Mitt Romneys extreme right wing agenda, which asks middle class families to sacrifice in order to protect millionaires and billionaires from paying their fair share.
Right about now my visulization of Harry Reid is of one of those small yapping dogs who just won’t shut up. He is standing next to a pile of Obama feces, he knows he is about to become Senate MINORITY Leader and is doing everything he can to confuse, delay and obfuscate. Won’t work Harry, you are about to get your comeuppance and it cannot happen soon enough!
Hoo boy, system seems to get stuck and here I are with 4 replies. Sorry all, time to replace sticky key.
Perhaps Harry could explain where Obama was during the Texas wildfires last year ?
Chris Matthews write this one?
Or the Madcow.
Just how many victims of Issac are there anyway?
Must be some cause all the libs are saying blacks drowned while Romney laughed at them.
Reid got the “attack dog outside the WH” gig this election.
So someone smarter than me can tell me how this statement equates to Romney visiting hurricane damages:
This is yet another example of Mitt Romneys extreme right wing agenda, which asks middle class families to sacrifice in order to protect millionaires and billionaires from paying their fair share.
WTF???
I will go further than that. If we Keep asking Millionaires and Billionaires to pay their fair share (whatever that means) we will be ASSURED that companies will outsource their companies and our futures and our jobs.
Harry, you are a Millionaire.
PAY UP. YOU 1ST!
Notice that our fearless leader has stayed away. The press hit the Pubblies for not cancelling their convention, but ignored the fact that Obama not only broke the custom of not campaigning during the other partys convention, but has paid little attention to the storm and the effect it is having of millions of people. Fox sent that little jerk to NO, but since the storm passed the city by, he didnt get a change to get hysterical the way he did seven years ago. No one is paying much attention to the fact that Bobby Jindal is not only working his little butt of, but that he is managing pretty well the efforts to handle what amounts to a huge, huge flood. As an aside, I wish to heck that people would smart and put their houses up on piers like they used to do.
I think that Mitt is going there just to make a showing but to get together with a fellow problem solver about what all needs to be done about these storms. After all, they are going to keep coming.
Sometimes, I’d rather be stranded in a spacecraft with no fuel and an hour’s worth of air when I read/hear such stupid BS from people in positions of power.
Didn’t Congress during the BUSH administration allocate $15 billion for new levees?
Obama sure as heck didn’t build them.
The big a$$ broom is gonna sweep Obozo away.
Someone boinked that and married that. Or vice versa...in Mormon circles...whatever.
What a nasty little troll that dude is.
Obama visit Louisiana yet?
It takes time to make arrangements with his busy schedule dont you know.
Escorting the president across the Texas border towards Louisiana
The areas flooded are the most heavily conservative areas of the country. It was a nasty little hurricane.
