UPDATE: CNN responds (see below)

To stand or not to stand — that is the question that CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Piers Morgan struggled with for all of the presentation of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance and half of “The Star-Spangled Banner” on the closing night of last week’s Republican National Convention.

A recently uploaded YouTube video shows “The Situation Room” anchor and the host of “Piers Morgan Tonight” sitting throughout those events, as they were jeered and heckled by attendees at the convention to stand, initially waving off those calls until finally standing at the halfway point of the anthem.

Anyone notice that at the end of the republican convention Romney was singing along with the closing song, America the Beautiful, and knew not just every word but every verse and stanza ?

What if everyone on FR called their cable (satellite TV) company and asked to have CNN blocked. If you can block a porn station you can block any station, so why not CNN.

Even if they claim they can't, the message will go back to CNN. Their ratings are that stellar! How long can they keep angering their customer base?

when i was a young boy i was taught to place my hand over my heart when the pledge of allegiance was said, along with the national anthem.

when i was in the military i saluted. now that i am old if i was in the vicinity of these apostates i would probably go to jail. either they would place their yellow hands over their hearts, salute,

or i would delicately beat the sh+t out of them.

don’t mock my country, my sacrifices or the sacrifices of my father, grandfather and my great grandfather.

\these people are buttholes. to say the least.

Blessings, bobo

I was going to tee off in my usual slapdash style. This time I read through. I understand Morgan finally attempted to stand, but Blitzer restrained him, with a touch of his arm. I read it that both men finally stood halfway through.

I have always felt uneasy with Morgan. Sometimes he comes off as a very erudite and perceptive host. At other times he slithers around his guests like a certain grass dwelling creature . I saw Blitzer this evening with Rience Priebus and it seemed that Blitzer was doing a Katie Couric or whatever. I could scarcely credit my senses at the unprofessional manner of Blitzer. Still I do stand to be corrected, could be my impression only.

I am heartened at the kind words here with regard to the good manners of Americans who would stand for the British National Anthem. I stand myself for the American Anthem and strange to say, feel a slight emotional tingle. (no jokes please). For it was we bloomin Brits, who fired the Congreve Rockets. to try to fire the fort and demoralize the American defenders. History tells us the flag is still there indeed. We have been quite good friends, except for Canada and the 1812-1814 war.

Correction, Wrong spelling of the first name of the chairman of the RNC. Reince and not Rience.

I spent several years in the UK back in the late 50’s into the early 60’s and after each movie showing the British National Anthem was played.

Everyone stood quietly until it was over.I never for a moment considered not showing respect for my host country.

I believe most true conservatives have great respect and love for your country. My daughter and I are both “Anglophiles” !! I felt pride in your athletes during the Olympics as I did our own.

Even if I didn’t have those feelings, being from the south I would still stand for your anthem because its the proper and polite thing to do!

No surprise about Woof Sitzer.

His fawning lickspittle “interview” of Markus Wolf, head of East Germany’s STASI, after the fall of the USSR and East Germany has to rank in the “Top Ten Shameful News Reader Interviews”.

The whole purpose of which was to compare the STASI to the CIA, whitewashing the deeds of those murderous bastards. The “casual walk” optics done in the fall were clearly amusing to Markus who was unable to contain his contempt at Sitzer groveling adoration. Poor midget puppy almost broke his neck staring up at Markus.
