Mitt Romney raised $100 million in August, his campaign told bundlers last week in Tampa.
Romney campaign finance director Spencer Zwick revealed the tally during an event with top fundraisers on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention, according to a source who was present.

Outstanding this may be one of the reasons.
That’s $11 million a week for nine weeks, plus whatever was already raised and not spent. :’) Thanks CountryClassSF.
IIRC, Romney had something like $165 million on hand as of mid-August. Money will not be a problem. :)
Thanks for the “good news” link!
I’m relieved to hear it. I want to give a little, my civic duty and all, but I’m broke right now. Next month should be a little better.
How does R+R money raising compare with McCain+Palin in 2008?
I haven’t had a great time during the Obamaconomy, but I’m mailing a check to Romney tomorrow. I have lots of problems with his record, but the alternative is unthinkable.
McCain-Palin decided to take matching funds which limited them to raise no more than $60 million for the entire General Election.
I donated in August. I usually give to the GOP presidential nominee; then I find a new candidate running for Congress and donate to them. This yr I plan to donate to that lady from Utah who spoke at the Convention. The Left has really been giving her a hard time because she’s a minority.
I think the questions we all have are, Can any amount of money raised overcome the cheating from the other side? Is there any amount of money and enthusiasm and energy from conservatives that can overcome the millions of welfare recipients, slackers, union slaves, black people, leftists, gays, and others who will mindlessly vote for Obama?
Which is the main reason Obama won.
McCain was an idiot, which is the main reason Obama won.
If McCain had raised money like Obama did McCain would have won.
If Obama had not lied and had taken public funds he would have lost.
BINGO and proving how dumb mclame was to do such a stupid thing beleiving he was up against an honest man.
McCain was like the guy from Spaceballs:
Dark Helmet: So, Lone Starr. Yogurt has taught you well. If there’s one thing I despise, it is a fair fight. But if I must, then I must. May the best man win. Put ‘er there.
[Reaches out to shake Lone Starr’s hand and instead takes his Schwartz ring]
Dark Helmet: The Ring! I can’t believe you fell for the oldest trick in the book! What a goof! What’s with you man? Come on! You know what? Here let me give it back to you.
[throws it down the grate]
Dark Helmet: Oh, look, you fell for that too! I can’t believe it, man!
The only ads I ever see are those Bill Clinton has cut for Obama.
I agree. I think the Romney campaign should have started going out there with the ad blitzes long ago when Obama began the attacks.
There’s certainly the idea of “coming in strong at the end” like he did in the primaries, but I think he runs a risk by waiting so long to spend the cash haul
