Voter ID opponents are hypocrites

Proponents of voter ID laws – mostly conservatives – justify the measures as safeguards to voting. Opponents on the Left may not believe that claim, but at least voter ID supporters explicitly argue that democratic voting procedures are sacrosanct, deserving respect and protection.

Meanwhile, there are Americans who are ambivalent, to say the least, about democratic voting rights, but they’re not on the conservative side. To find them, you need only look to the New York Times’ op-ed pages, where columnist Thomas Friedman sighs with longing at the “great advantages” enjoyed by China’s “one-party autocracy” over our “one-party democracy,” because that Communist nation “is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people.” Or stroll over to the Huffington Post, where professor Daniel A. Bell hymns “the success of meritocracy in China,” as opposed to “Western-style democracies,” where “less talent goes to the bureaucracy.”

And don’t forget Andy Stern, a paragon of the Left and “community organizing,” who long served as head of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and now serves as Labor Leader in Residence at Cornell. He wrote a famous piece on China’s “superior model,” which mocked our inferior system and leaders in both our major parties (namely, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, and President Obama). Our democratic policy debates are insignificant to Stern, compared to his thrills at “reading the emerging outline of China’s 12th five-year plan.”

I see them as one and the same, using opposition to voter ID laws to achieve an autocracy.

They are planning to hit us with a court injunction from a Leftist Federal Appeals Court less than 72 hours before the polls open.

EVEN if there is no voter fraud problem (which, it is clear to me, there is), shouldn’t the process of voting be safegaurded to at least the same degree as that of boarding a plane or cashing a check?

I wouldn’t call this hypocrisy any more than when a burglar is asked by the police if he broke into a home and stole stuff, he denies it.

Nor is it hypocritical that Democrats both oppose voter ID and at the same time lust for a one-party (theirs) regime, because the latter is an end, and the former is just a means to that end.

The organization of leftist political parties around the world, the socialist international, embraces single party (theirs) states as a guiding principal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_International

They are very honest about what they want. They want to work to the eventual elimination of nations in favor of economic blocs under a one-world government.

They also want to foment cultural, historical, ethnic, and linguistic homogeneity, likewise destroying religions, seeing such differences as the cause of strife and war.

To do this they encourage extensive immigration of foreign peoples to a nation, on condition that the immigrants vote for the leftist party while diluting the vote of the local peoples.

Eventually they hope to achieve a one-part leftist state, and that their nation just become an administrative district, with no majority people, culture, language, religion, or history. And most importantly, a one-party, leftist state.

Whether this is done “by the rules”, or by cheating, guile, corruption, villainy, or even genocide doesn’t matter.

Because they are of the firm belief that “The ends justify the means.”

What they really want is ‘One Party Rule’, at which point ‘Voter ID’ becomes moot.................

I firmly believe that the US will be a Venezuela style government in one year if 0 wins.

They want power by any means possible.

Voter ID makes it hard to defraud elections and thwarts their power.

They aren’t “hypocrites”, they’re “focussed”.

Or buy effective decongestants. Where were the sob stories about old folks and poor folks not being able to buy pseudephedrine? I remember all sorts of attacks (many actually valid) on the content of the Patriot Act, but not one cry of racism or burdens being placed on the poor or elderly by the drug-war requirement that government-issued photo-ID be shown to buy allergy and cold medications containing pseudephedrine.

"Because they are of the firm belief that “The ends justify the means.”"

They've updated that this year to "The ends justify ANY means.

If you are attending the DNC Convention in person you need a valid photo ID to be admitted.

Democrats think it is more important to guard against fraud at their own convention than to prevent voter fraud at the voting booth.

China’s one party autocracy is a liberal’s wet dream. The liberal credo is that average Americans are too dumb to make the “right” decisions about their lives and need the liberal elites to make these decisions for them. What better form of government for a liberal than a one party system where the unwashed masses are given a sham vote to choose a single candidate hand picked by the elites who run everything. These single party systems have worked so well in places like Saddam’s Iraq, North Korea, Cuba, Zimbabwe, the former Soviet Union and Hitler’s Germany. China is also a model for human rights.

If they can get an ID to buy smokes or booze, or cash a check, they can get an ID to vote.
I don't want to deprive anyone of their right to vote, I only ask that they vote no more than once, in the location they are supposed to.
No more bussing homeless from one poll station to another or using dead peoples names.
Why don't the left show the same concern for the military vote? (Never mind, I know why.)

What do you want to bet that if you want to get into the Democrat National Convention, you would have to show proper ID?

They are very honest about what they want

Yes. But where they are hypocritical is in the reasoning they use to support or resist any particular policy, such as voter ID. If they told the truth then, they would never get their policies installed.

As for their honesty about what they want, yes they do say it, but they will also deny that they said it if it gets noticed by the masses. Thus, yes, they are hypocrites, liars, and frankly, IMO, the spawn of Satan.
