He’s running as an independent, which will make this a 3-way race. Six more years of Ben Cardin.

Just what we don’t need I am voting for Dan Bongino.

Bongino will have it hard enough without this guy splitting the vote.

Actually I think this guy will pull votes from Cardin, though I don’t think it will be enough.

I can’t imagine why anyone wastes money running against the Donk senators here in MD. They will leave office when they die or retire. It’s sad, but it is the way is has been for decades. The last time Maryland had a Republican Senator was in 1987.

From Wiki, he is an Episcopalian, taught at Georgetown.

He ran in the senate primaries in 1992 (lost to Alan Keyes) and in 2000 against Paul Rappaport. These were Republican primaries.

He filed the petition in June - long checking process - 77,000 names (needed under 35,000 to qualify).

That was Chuck Mathias, an ultraleft RINO who made the Maine Twins look like Jesse Helms. The last non-leftist Republican elected to the Senate from MD was J. Glenn Beall, Jr. in 1970.

“From Wiki, he is an Episcopalian, taught at Georgetown.”

“He ran in the senate primaries ....in 2000 against Paul Rappaport. These were Republican primaries.”

Indeed. I talked at length to this man back then, in my local Repub club (ironically) Christmas party. He was from Montgomery (Limo Lib) Co.

I liked Sobhani then when I talked to him, although I looked askance at his MOSLEM religion, which I was never crazy about. He must be covering it up since 9/11, which wasn’t that long after that party. Or maybe he genuinely “got religion”.
