Democrats take Pro-Israel language out of platform
Breitbart ^ | September 4, 2012 | Jeff Dunetz

Posted on 09/04/2012 10:46:52 AM PDT by GlockThe Vote

The Democrat Party has removed a section of its 2008 Party Platform in the 2012 version recently released online -- some key language in expressing support for the state of Israel.

Below is the section missing from the 2012 document (h/t Republican Jewish Coalition, @RJCHQ) :

The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel's right to exist, and abides by past agreements. Sustained American leadership for peace and security will require patient efforts and the personal commitment of the President of the United States. The creation of a Palestinian state through final status negotiations, together with an international compensation mechanism, should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel. All understand that it is unrealistic to expect the outcome of final status negotiations to be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949. Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.

Each of these items is crucial to Israel, and all have been key areas of contention for those who believe this President has not been friendly to the Jewish State.

Here is the Middle East section of the 2012 platform

The Middle East. President Obama and the Democratic Party maintain an unshakable commitment to
Israel’s security. A strong and secure Israel is vital to the United States not simply because we share
strategic interests, but also because we share common values. For this reason, despite budgetary
constraints, the President has worked with Congress to increase security assistance to Israel every single
year since taking office, providing nearly $10 billion in the past three years. The administration has also
worked to ensure Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region. And we have deepened defense
cooperation – including funding the Iron Dome system – to help Israel address its most pressing threats,
including the growing danger posed by rockets and missiles emanating from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon,
Syria, and Iran. The President’s consistent support for Israel’s right to defend itself and his steadfast
opposition to any attempt to delegitimize Israel on the world stage are further evidence of our enduring
commitment to Israel’s security.
It is precisely because of this commitment that President Obama and the Democratic Party seek peace
between Israelis and Palestinians. A just and lasting Israeli-Palestinian accord, producing two states for
two peoples, would contribute to regional stability and help sustain Israel’s identity as a Jewish and
democratic state. At the same time, the President has made clear that there will be no lasting peace
unless Israel’s security concerns are met. President Obama will continue to press Arab states to reach
out to Israel. We will continue to support Israel’s peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, which have been
pillars of peace and stability in the region for many years. And even as the President and the Democratic
Party continue to encourage all parties to be resolute in the pursuit of peace, we will insist that any
Palestinian partner must recognize Israel’s right to exist, reject violence, and adhere to existing
agreements.
Elsewhere in the region, President Obama is committed to maintaining robust security cooperation with
Gulf Cooperation Council states and our other partners aimed at deterring aggression, checking Iran’s
destabilizing activities, ensuring the free flow of commerce essential to the global economy, and
building a regional security architecture to counter terrorism, proliferation, ballistic missiles, piracy, and
other common threats.

Odious. But perhaps this is a good thing as it will alert SOME Jewish Voters that the DNC is NOT their friend.

They're anything but Jews in other than the liberal-political sense. They don't even believe in God.

Just another victimhood group label to get goodies and political clout.

Jewish People, like Irish Catholics, have a generational tradition of voting dem.It TAKES a MAJOR offense to get them to change affiliations. I know. I am from a Boston Irish family who actually worked for the Kennedys. And my late husband’s family were Jewish People who were in business. My BIL, a small business owner, finally saw the light because he saw the marxist policies of the present administration destroying his livelihood.

Former Mayor Ed Koch once said that if shitler ran for any office all he needed to do was register as a dem and he'd still get 60% of the Jewish vote.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has just tried to screw Israel. They may just given the election Mitt. The Zoinist will now vote republican. In ten years the Muslims will write the entire platform. This does not end well for the Jews who are Libish.

I have a cute story about tradition:

There was this young newlywed wife who was cooking her first Christmas Ham. Her husband was in the kitchen helping her out when he noticed a funny thing. After she had removed he Ham from it’s packaging the first thing she did was to cut off the heel and discard it.

Her husband asked her why she had done that. She replied that was what her mom always did when she cooked a Ham. He had her call her mom and ask her why she did that. Her mom replied that was the way her mom, (Grandmother now), had always done it.

They got Grandma on a three-way connection and asked her why she cut off the heel on the Ham. Her Grandmother replied I cut off the Heel of the Ham because my pan was too small for the whole Ham!

Tradition! It starts out with a good reason and then is mindlessly followed thereafter even when the reason for it is long gone.

Just another victimhood group label to get goodies and political clout.

Problem is, unlike other groups, Jews aren't getting anything back in return for support for "Osama" Obama. In fact, 'Rat policies under Obama, both foreign and domestic, often act against the interests American Jews. The posted 'Rat platform on Israel is just one of many insults to Jews and legitimate Jewish concerns that the leftist mind set causes.

And it's not just Israel. How about affirmative action and Obamacare, just to cite two domestic examples?

BTW, can someone please post the Republican platform section on Israel so we can compare it to the 'Rats?
