To classify the normal day-to-day life of gay and lesbian citizens as being on par with that of murderers, rapists, and prostitutes is offensive, untrue, and an example of religious ideology being allowed to trump the scientifically demonstrated truth of the matter. Uh - it's a religious university. It's responsibility is to teach what it believes God demands. What's the point of a Church that replaces God's teachings with man's opinions?

A group of gay university alumni and allies is challenging the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, over its inclusion of homosexuality in its course on “deviant behavior.” Heh. Good luck with that. Franciscan has been solid and thriving for 25 years and more.
initially identified itself as “Franciscan Gay Alumni & Allies,”
. . . but had to change their name or get sued by Franciscan, since they're not alumni of that university. (Gotta lie, eh?)

. . . to rapists and prostitutes, perhaps. The Four Sins that Cry to Heaven for Vengeance (God's, that is) are 1) Willful Murder; 2) Sodomy; 3) Oppressing the widow and the orphan; and 4) Depriving the Workman of his just wages.
So, they have a point. Sodomy is classified as worse than some of the other things mentioned. But you can't explain everything in a course catalogue.

Wait for it. This University will be disciplined by the Catholic hierarchy for not being “sensitive” to the sodomites. Someone will get fired. And the sodomites will be allowed to create a “tolerance” course in place of this course.

Deviant behavior deviates from the norm. Homosexuality is not the norm, so it deviates from the norm. Therefore, homosexuality is deviant behavior.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.
