White House says not worried about new jobs report

Regardless of whether the unemployment rate rises or falls on Friday when new monthly figures are released, the White House will continue to make the same pitch to voters: the economy is moving in the right direction.

“If you look at what the president has been saying for every jobs number for the past year or so, it’s almost exactly the same,” White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer said today at a POLITICO luncheon here on the economy. “We’re moving in the right direction; we’re creating jobs.”

“No matter what the number is, that’s how we’ll approach it,” he siad.

The administration is effectively putting on a brave face as it prepares for the possibility that Americans might learn of an increase in the unemployment rate just hours after they hear President Barack Obama deliver a speech on Thursday accepting his party’s nomination for another four years in the White House.

Though he acknowledged that the unemployment rate is an important indicator of the economy’s health, Pfeiffer cast the month-to-month movement in the number as a Washington fascination that doesn’t resonate with all Americans.

“To the average person, the economy is a very personal thing,” he said. “People will look at the array of things happening.”

Of course they are not worried. They will follow the SOP of both the Clinton and Obama regimes. They will massage the data out of all contact with reality, have their media lap dogs hype the fake data for maximum PR benefit, then quietly revise the number downward later in the month when no one is looking

Okay, all you people out of work....please note that the white house is not concerned about jobs numbers.

This election should be over and shouldn’t even be close. If dicktator wins or it’s close, this country is whacked.

Yes, employment is improving but:

Employment is growing so slowly, everyone knows this "recovery" is the worst EVER.

People who believe that any signs of growth in the economy are the result of Obama’s policies are like spectators at a swimming pool, watching a strong swimmer who’s able to tread water even with a cement block around his neck and who give the cement block credit for keeping him afloat.

The only job Obama is worried about is his.

A recession is when your neighbor loses his job.

A depression is when you lose your job.

A recovery is when 0bama loses his job!

The facts are not going to get in the way of their spin - no matter what.

They don’t care. They are happy to see food stamp rolls increase though, that is how they measure success.

While on camera Baghdad Bob acted like he was not worried about a US invasion and we all know how that ended.

Of course they’re not worried. If the jobs number is down (I’m talking about the new jobs), it’s statistical noise; if it’s up, its proof that O’s policies are working and the recovery is proceeding apace. Repeat after me: 4.6 million jobs created!

Goebbels was a political pioneer!

“We’re moving in the right direction; we’re creating jobs.”

Translation: "Vote Obama in for life, and we GUARANTEE that the economy will improve some time in the next 50 years! He has a tough job on his hands, but just you wait!"
