The Obama campaign has taken to a new slogan: "Osama bin Laden is dead. GM is alive." I believe this was first coined by Joe Biden, so that tells you something right there.
If the Obama campaign wants to open the door, I say we take the bait and walk through. "Osama bin Laden is dead."
Great!
And????
Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood now rule Egypt.
Our men and women in uniform are being murdered by our "peace partners" in Afghanistan.
The Middle East is an ever-more threatening place with Islamists gaining power.
Iran is on the verge of a nuclear weapon.
The United States has abandoned many while aligning with foes.
Our President apologizes for America at home and abroad. Obama wants to slash our military until it is no longer the strongest on earth and we cannot adequately defend ourselves.
"GM is alive."
At what cost?
And how about the rest of the story? You know, those small annoying details like the fact that our nation is collapsing under crushing debt.

For Obama to take credit for “OBL is dead” is akin to saying that Truman won WWII.
“Thanks to American Soldiers and American taxpayers”
RE: The SEAL team missed several opportunities on OBL because BHO wouldnt give the OK to do what GWB spent 7+ years preparing the team to. Saying yes to killing Americas #1 enemy is not hard, and he tried not to.

So, what finally pushed Obama to say “Yes”?
This adulation of Obama, er, Osama bin Ladin goes on too long, there is a risk that he may well be turned into a martyr as he always wanted to be.
As far as GM goes, well, the bankruptcy was only postponed for a while. It is still coming, because the business plan was never intended to be viable.
The Janesville plant is still closed, but maybe, Tata Motors of India may decide to take over the plant and reopen it.
If the Tata design is the only one that the current regime is willing to allow to be manufactured. Small, light, and extremely economical, but probably would not get past current NHTSA standards. The Tata is about like the original Fiat 500.
...been mostly dead all day....
Alas undermining US stealing GM assets from bond holders and giving them to unions is not an achievement in any way shape or form.
“Debt per citizen” depends on how you squint at the issue. Federal debt only? state debt? unfunded liabilities? Answer seems to run from $50,000 to $1,125,000 per person, subject to what the actual question is.
“No thanks to Obama. That guy is dumber than donuts.”
GM is alive only because BHO wrote a very large check which taxpayers’ kids will have to make good.
Handing someone else the bill is not leadership.
Bin Laden is Dead = Thank you, Navy Seals
GM is Alive = RIP Chevy Volt
“If Obama didn’t have US taxpayer money to give away, he couldn’t draw a big enough crowd to play tennis.”
Leni
Could be a real zinger for Hillary! to go off-script and admit that she gave the go-ahead.
GM was decidedly NOT an achievement. Handled entirely the wrong way.
What do I say to “Osama is dead and GM is alive?”
The SEALs killed Osama.
The unions killed GM.
You mean the GM that bragged yesterday about investing $4.1 billion in Mexico over the last 4 years?
GM lost 400 million last quarter, is headed to bankruptcy, and Obama just gave a significant portion of the company to his political supporters (unions).
Bin Laden is dead. This is a good thing. I would even say it qualifies as an administration accomplishment. It is mostly a Navy SEAL accomplishment, and the Administration’s involvment is likely WAY overstated ... but, Obama did give the go-ahead. Good for him.
I’m not sure that’s much of a reason to vote for him, though. Bush would’ve given the go-ahead. Hillary would’ve given the go-ahead. Biden would’ve given the go-ahead. Romney would’ve given the go-ahead. Ryan would’ve given the go-ahead. McCain would’ve given the go-ahead. Palin would’ve given the go-ahead. I would’ve given the go-ahead. My mother would’ve given the go-ahead.
Anybody to the right of Noam Chomsky would’ve given the go-ahead. And, most of them would’ve likely spent less time than Obama handwringing about it.
GM is hardly thriving. If they want to highlight the economy ... give ‘em all the rope they want.
