Oh definitely. In San Jose and subs, roads were passable. The “new” main route east had suffered a massive landslide about a week before we got there, so we had to snake through a more southern mountain route. All of the semis from Limon coming to San Jose were also trying to traverse the same route. We sat for hours and hours on end. I would put the vehicle in park, lay back my seat, and sleep. Kids would wake me up, and I would move forward, about the distance of a car length, and start over.

I was tickled by the ingenuity of the locals. They would walk to the next little grocery store, buy goods, and walk back, selling them to the tourists caught in the traffic jam.

Just finished reading this on the Salton Sea thermo fields....

Temps in one well were recorded at 389 degrees Celsius just 2km deep.

That is freakin wow stuff right there. The whole article is eye opening.

And Errant don't forget my Farallon being eaten theory....this may be what is happening I want to do a bit more research though.

Well Super Plumes would we anywhere between 2000 and 4000km wide....

Yeah, but I don't see one that big under Cali, LOL. Never the less, something is obviously causing the high thermal readings and I'd be taking and monitoring temperature readings closely in that area for signs of an increase!

MAPPING THE DIFFERENT EFFECTS OF GRAVITY
Goce
1. Earth is a slightly flattened sphere - it is ellipsoidal in shape
2. Goce senses tiny variations in the pull of gravity over Earth
3. The data is used to construct an idealised surface, or geoid
4. It traces gravity of equal 'potential'; balls won't roll on its 'slopes'
5. It is the shape the oceans would take without winds and currents
6. So, comparing sea level and geoid data reveals ocean behaviour
7. Gravity changes can betray magma movements under volcanoes
8. A precise geoid underpins a universal height system for the world
9. Gravity data can also reveal how much mass is lost by ice sheets

I suspect some day, in their zeal to keep Breaking News totally full of mostly pure BS...

Yep, on this one I agree. A 7.9 (or 7.6) earthquake off Costa Rica with a Tsunami warning in Hawaii IS breaking news. I don't understand why it got pulled, especially given some of the stuff that's still there.

Um. I didn’t post this thread to breaking.

Then somebody moved it there pretty quickly because that’s where I first found it. When I came back to check for updates, it was gone. For what it’s worth, in my opinion it belongs in breaking news.

Transient Mantle Plumes my friend, transient.

That would explain much of those two pdf’s uncoverings as for the geological make-up.

this would suggest that perhaps we are seeing something that has not been seen in milleniums.

Is the planet due for an abrupt (relatively speaking) adjustment in mass distribution? The increased magnetic pole shift tends to make be think it's doing so now by way of the core which is equivalent to the size of the moon. Now that's a Wow factor! lol

I agree with you there. Maybe not in the last 100K years on this magnitude.

No, when I saw it I added News and Breaking News because I thought it made sense for it to be there. Obviously not. Maybe we are applying the definition of Breaking News utilized by the rest of the world and there is something different in force here. It has started to vary more than it used to with some Breaking News decisions actually making sense. Not this one on an earthquake of this magnitude in this hemisphere.

If you read those pdf’s and some of the other articles I have posted a few things are clear.

The subduction of ancient Plates like the Farallon have been theoried to start the chain reaction that builds a transient mantle Plume. This process could take thousands to millions of years of that consumed mass must be somehow recycled back to the lithosphere.

Two...there are enough anomalies in the Salton Sea Trough area to not only scratch your head over but if this continues perhaps even pick out a favorite high hill....lol

As for the Glamis webicorder...I don't pretend to know for sure but I am sure of one thing....that it recorded something twice in two prior to a large and moderate quake.

I'm not too sure about a high hill, lol. I think I would be looking for an excuse to move to another part of the country!

I agree with your ideas of on mantle plumes and subduction complications. I'm just saying the primary cause may be more fundamental. If we have an abrupt core shift, even a by a little, it's going to be kicking up all kinds of pressure waves, and plumes causing increased tectonic other Geo activity world wide. May also help explain the gravity anomaly off the end of India, if the core is moving away from that area?

That last pdf I gave u explains why Transient Mantle Plumes would not be covered under the general models of gravitational fluid models.

However I do understand and do not discount your theory either my FRiend.
