Krauthammer Scorches Clinton's Speech: "A Swing And A Miss" (video)
RealClearPolitics ^ | September 5, 2012 | Ian Schwartz

Charles Krauthammer reacts to former President Bill Clinton's address to the 2012 Democratic National Convention: "I think it was a giant swing ask a miss. Mighty Casey and Bill Clinton is a natural, he struck out on this. I don't think it would move a needle whatsoever. Look, it had all the classic Clinton elements; it was engaging, it was humorous. In some cases, it was generous and there are more mentions of the Bushes than I heard in three days in Tampa, but on the other hand it was also vintage Clinton. In that it was sprawling, undisciplined and truly self-indulgent. This is one of the strangest nomination speeches I think ever given; it was kind of an amalgam between a State of the Union address, a policy seminar and what sounded to me like a campaign speech for a third Clinton term."

Did Obama bow to the Sinkmeister when they met onstage? Anyone else notice that?

“Clinton does not want Obama to win”

Clinton very much wants to see Obama win because he wants to see Hilliary elected in 2016.

I think we will see both Clintons campaigning hard for Obama because in 2020 Hilliary will be to old..she wants to be the first female president.

Clinton knows a second Obama term will poison things so much that a Democrat will be unelectable in 2016, she has a better chance against an incumbent Republican.

The rapist in chief was a big hit with the ladies on ladies night... (Fluke included) but I didn’t hear any cheers from Jaunita Broadrick, or any of the other four victims. It was vintage Clinton... one lie after another, all with a big smile on his face... anybody for a cigar???

I almost always agree with Krauthammer but on this I disagree - I thought Clinton was very good and could convince an ignorant wavering independent. I hope I’m wrong or that everyone was watching football.

OK, if anyone knows Clinton history, it has to be FR. So, take his 'endorsement' of Hillary, and work it back to all the elections he has seen his candidate defeated. A slew of them in 2010, but also before that. In the really big clutch races it is almost a curse.

If Rush is reading this, yes, use it. Get your researchers to give you actual numbers.

Bill was in a hurry. Sandra and Monica were in the hotel room waiting on him.

When the RNC was on the networks cut away at 11:00 PM, when I checked CBS at 11:30 they were just leaving the DNC.

Hillary will be well past her sell-by date in 2016. Her appearance has seriously deteriorated in just the last few years. She may not realize it, but surely Slick understands that in an age where television/video is king.

I think they have decided to try to clear the way to a presidential bid in 2016. Both are cutthroat politicians and they have made the political calculation that 2020 is to far away..if she is going to do it it has to be 2016. They fear an improved economy by 2016 more than they do a poisoned 2016 election season IMHO

“one lie after another, all with a big smile on his face”

Yep. Clinton, unlike Obama, is the kind of guy that is actually appealing to the dumb sluts who vote Democrat.

I’m sure Clinton was good. He could sell sand to a sheik.

I’m also sure that the rest of the MSM was all aflutter about him as well. Unfortunately, I think you are right that he could sell some independents. Probably not a lot of them...but some of them.

True she doesn't have a very good shelf life but her ambition to be the first woman POTUS will win out..

I flipped back and forth between American Hoggers and this hogwash. At the end I kept seeing obama wanting to get off stage and Bill would wave at the crowd again and obama would have to wave. Anyone with a brain could see the bull crap and they should have been able to smell it. But, most of those sitting there don’t have working brains.

Don’t know if you’re right or wrong but Republicans are very afraid all of the time because the media creeps into their heads.
Clinton was not all that, okay? Same with Moochelle. Y’all too jumpy and too easily freaked out. Look at Akin being thrown under the bus by half the posters here because the msm was harping on his comment and everyone got all scared and ready to retreat.

So yea, maybe Clinton was effective, or maybe you’re just being insecure. idk
I guess we’ll see, right?

To my mind Slick’s performance tonight was all about Slick and his own stature.

Recall Ed Klein’s quote from Slick that formed the title of his book “The Amateur.”

When Slick said “this is the biggest fairy tale I ever heard” talking about Obama he meant that someone with as little political ability, experience and accomplishment as Obama could get so far.

Slick was showing the audience and in particular the MSM how effective a real professional can be, expecting Obama not quite to measure up tomorrow night.

If Slick was really trying his best to get Obama reelected we would see him stumping with Obama in appearances around the country in coming weeks, which I don’t expect we will see.

You all keep waiting for the Clinton’s to sabotage Obama but it never happens. lol

Lets just give it up. Clinton doesn’t like him, this is true, but he goes to bat for Ozero when it counts, and I have yet to see anything to suggest otherwise.
