Busted.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. Two platform planks sparked division at the Democratic National Convention here Wednesday.
Things got so bad that President Barack Obama was forced to personally intervene, ordering language mentioning God and naming Jerusalem as the rightful capital of Israel be added.
Obama had seen the language prior to the convention, a campaign source said, but did not seek to change it until after Republicans jumped on the omissions of God and Jerusalem late Wednesday. And even then, it had to be forced through a convention hall full of delegates who nearly shouted down the change.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the conventions chairman, kicked off Wednesdays proceedings by trying to clean up a mess Democrats made by omitting from their official party platform mentions of God and of Jerusalem as the preferred capital of Israel.
Villaraigosa called for a voice vote on an amendment offered by former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, who chaired the platform drafting committee. Facing boos and nays, he tried again, before announcing that in his judgment, a two-thirds majority had approved the measure. He was booed again as he walked off the stage.
He had to have approved it. That’s why it’s absurd that the media is trying to make him out to be the hero for putting it back in. Britt Hume’s analysis was particularly disgusting.
Classic 0bama.
Leading from behind.
When you have people Booing God, there is a lot of Evil in that place.
On the upside, it’s nice to know that the Democrats have to scramble to react to Republican statements.
Such a difference. They react to facts pointed out by Republicans. Republicans have to respond to lies spewed by Democrats.
The DNC is sitting in First Class on their ship, a ship called “Titanic” and they are saying not even God can sink it?
Seems like history is about to repeat itself.
That’s so out of character!... /snurk
He had to approve it so he could find out what was in it.
In fairness, I doubt he read it in much detail. His lackeys briefed him. The changes might’ve been brought up in passing. Probably not, though. He wouldn’t have intentionally been honest enough to want to remove Jerusalem and God from the platform.
SnakeDoc
Mostly Arabs mad about Jerusalem.
Remember Carney couldn’t name it in a presser.
I agree. He probably did not push for the removal, or even noticed it missing. But that is telling in itself.
That is an understatement. Michelle Malkin noted how Obama panders to the most liberal fringe. We saw that last night with Sandra Fluke and all the other feminazis who tout abortion as a 'health choice'. On the first night of the convention, the speakers claimed the democrats were united, unlike the republicans. Yet last night, not one speaking spot was allocated to a representative of the pro-life democrats.
pro-life democrats.
What?
Who?
Where?
But, I think the Republicans missed a golden opportunity.
They should have kept their collective mouths shut, until AFTER the convention. Then, run a saturation media campaign in states like Florida where this issue would have made a significant difference.
By making a stink about it now, they gave Obama the chance to "intervene" and come out smelling like a rose. Do you really think the average guy on the street will hear that Obama approved the change in the first place?
There, fixed it.
Some of the true believers just don’t understand that you can’t advance the communist agenda “in the open”.
Said Uhbamuh, “Pelosi told me I had to approve it to find out what was in it”, so I went along.
Godless leftist/prog/commies/homos who would of thunk it?
Otherwise, on rather to give Obama/Biden the boot I vore YEA!!!
This grifter will sell Mooshele if it gets him to 270 electoral votes. He has no principles, so he doesn’t have to worry about anything but winning.
