The Pentagon’s Inspector General discovered nearly half of U.S. military bases abroad lack offices where troops can register to vote or apply for absentee ballots.
The Pentagon’s report notes the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act, which President Barack Obama signed into law in 2009, requires an installation voting assistance office (IVAO) on every military base that is not in a war zone. The Pentagon attempted to contact the offices at 229 military bases, but could only reach 114 IVAOs.
Republicans have accused the the Obama administration, which just recently sued to make it more difficult for military voters to vote in Ohio, of not doing all that it could to implement the voter-assistance offices because military voters tend to vote for Republicans. The Military Voter Protection Project last month discovered military requests for absentee ballots were lower in swing states like Florida than they were in 2008.

Just like voting machines mysteriously “discovered” in the trunks of cars or dumped in the bay, the military votes will “disappear” too. Or arrive too late to be counted. Or absentee ballots sent too late to be returned.
They are indeed evil bastards, disenfranchising those who put their lives on the line for us.

President Mittens will be commander-in-chief. He can just give the military men and women a DIRECT ORDER to vote. Watch the rats squeal. If the G.I.’s don’t like it they can just vote for the rat-sounds fair?

There’s more: The military could conceivably use any state that has a military base as their permanent address. Just think off all the new voters in the swing states.
Colleges and universities, however, are being flooded with volunteers signing up students to vote. My son has been hit up repeatedly; and every dorm room has two applications.

I thought anyone could register voters. I thought voters could register by telephone, email, postcard, etc. Why, then, are the military guys victims to this?
And there is nothing in place to prevent a student from also requesting absentee ballots from their home states. No national voter ID check. And little chance an Obama administration is ever going to try to catch voter fraud.
