I think this very telling. This will cause a few (and only a few) democrats to question just who they are involved with. I know the yeas that were there understood this. I pray for the others that I know personally that are devout Christians and don’t pay enough attention to politics and still believe that the democrats are just trying to help people. I hope this serves as a wake up call.

that’s what I thought when I heard this on tv last night. Shock, outrage and sadness for them denying God, and His Holy city, Jerusalem.
Cannot understand how anyone who calls himself/herself a christian could stay/vote democratic party. It’s a one-way ticket to a very fiery place: denying God, denying Jerusalem, pro-abortion, pro-same sex “marriage,” equating christianity with other religions, denying our American exceptionalism and foundation as a Christian country...the democrats just keep adding to their sins! Guess they’ve forgotten/disregard that there will be a judgement seat that they will have to face someday! Unless they are like Peter and confess their sins and transform their lives, then they are doomed. God please open their eyes and their hearts to You before it is too late for their souls!

I also thought about the parallels with Christ’s sentencing by Pilate ... there were probably many in the crowd in Jerusalem who loudly voiced their desire NOT to crucify Jesus; in this case, Pontius Villar also went with the “Yes” vote to wash his hands of it...
It was a story of redemption, not condemnation. In The Gospel of St. John Ch. 20, Christ asks St. Peter three times: “Do you love me?” St. Peter three times affirms his love and is told to “feed My sheep.”
St. Peter could have left after his denials, but he came back. The American people have a choice as well. What we choose will make us great or no better than Judas.
The crude responses are upsetting. I really wouldn’t have expected it from FReepers. I wish they could be culled out.
Agree...unless they are trolls. I must say, this observation took my breath away.
So far, the majority of Americans have not turned to God. I pray their eyes are opened so that they can see that they, each one, need him in their lives and in this Country.

I’m frequently disappointed by the crudeness of responses here as well as the bitterness and acrimony that is displayed for the Old Right or Goldwater Republican principles or any libertarian nuances. The rabid attack on Akin was an eyeopener and to me was stupidity of the worse sort.
The vote what? The vote was the denial three times...before the cock was to crow. The question is: Was BJC the cock that crowed after the denial?
I was talking about the agenda for the evening, as in order of things that happened, not anything nasty. What was the next thing, event, person that was in the order of events that occurred after the three NOs?
If that’s what people thought, then their minds are where they do not belong.
