A twenty-something serviceman who loves to drink, party and chase tail? Yeah, that’s never happened before.

Sorry, I had to clarify, I am not judging the guy for doing that stuff. I respect the guy’s military service.

It's all good. I'm sure Harry agrees. There's nothing wrong with drinking, partying and chasing tail after a rough day of bringing the hurt down on Taliban MoFo's.

LOL, if the changes in the rules of succession go ahead as planned (from male-preference primogeniture to pure primogeniture) It would be Peter Philips, via his mother Princess Anne, who would eventually inherit the throne, rather than Beatrice...

That’s all great info I’ve seen on wikipedia, but I’m not much of an Anglophile. btw - sins of a solar empire is a pretty solid game I have to say.

True, but I haven’t played it for a while now. The lack of a single-player campaign was disappointing...

No kidding - they left out the GPS coordinates for his bunk, though.

I'm sure the local spies will find it soon enough now that they know where to look.

My question is, will Harry really be allowed to take part in real combat missions or is he being deep-sixed and hidden in plain sight. Is putting his life at risk the penalty for generally normal behavior just because it embarrasses the palace elite?

There was a photo, and the Sun (don't look at this link if you are at work) ran it again (page down a bit), where he was unshaven and wearing a ballcap with a US flag on it. Made me wonder if that was one of his disguises, heh.

Thanks for the LOL. I checked, and the proposed rules would only affect Charles’ descendants. So Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie get to stay at #5 and #6 in line to the throne.

I suppose they were such good sports about wearing the goofy hats at the last royal wedding that no one could bear to see them dropped in the line of succession.

I imagine he offered that as a way of 'making up' for Vegas in the eyes of the royal family. Plus the guy's a patriot.

Whereas all those wonderful elected representatives of the people, who take bribes, fiddle their expenses, break their promises to the voters, regularly ignore the wishes of the majority to pander to pampered minorities - oh yeah, they are well worthy of our respect and admiration.

Why on earth would they broadcast his deployment?

It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to believe that doing so makes him a target.

Of course it puts a higher element of risk upon him. It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to figure that one out. But it does take a conspiracy theorist to attribute that to a "uriah the hittite" maneouvre by his own family.

As to why they would broadcast his deployment - because like all news outlets the Beeb is obsessed with being first with a "story" (because they think that will get them awards and/or more circulation/viewers). The moral implications of the CONSEQUENCES of their actions - like people's reputations, livelihoods or (as in this case) lives - is a long way down on their list of priorities. This has been proven time and time again, and with all broadcasters everywhere. They'll publish whatever they think they can get away with.

During the Falklands War the Beeb happily announced that British troops were about to assault an Argentine base at Goose Green. The Paras readying for the assault heard the broadcast. They were not well pleased. Now I don't believe that the news teams at White City were deliberately trying to get those soldiers killed and/or scupper the entire British attempt to recover the Islands. What I do think is that they quite genuinely just did not give a second thought about what the results of that broadcast could be.

I merely wondered why on earth they would do it. You're dredging up all sorts of Machiavellian motives, not me.
