A Florida Democrat has resigned from his county chairmanship after anti-Christian comments he made at the Democratic National Convention spread through an online video.
Mark Siegel resigned Friday from his post in the Palm Beach County Democratic Party, according to the communications director of the state's Democratic Party, Brannon Jordan.
Siegel, speaking to a conservative journalist in Charlotte, NC, said he wasn't a fan of Christianity because "the Christians just want [Jews] to be there so we can be slaughtered and converted and bring on the second coming of Jesus Christ."

Really?? That’s the first time I’ve ever heard this. I thought we were instructed to pray for the peace of Jerusalem?? Jesus Christ returns on His own schedule and on His own conditions. There’s not one thing man can do to change that. God’s plan, not ours.

Jesus was a nice Jewish boy. His father , Joesph. They were carpenters. They used to make crucifixes for the Romans Oy, they were glad to get the work. Yeah, Jesus. Funny kid. Sounds like an inflamed imagination rather than a reading of any sort of modern Christian theology.
If I wanted to try to piece together a claim like that, I think I’d know how. I’d take the part about speeding the coming of Jesus Christ (which does not literally specify how) and then put that next to the part about only a third of Israel surviving what is popularly called the Tribulation. And then I would claim that Christians feel they have to engineer these events by any means, the other moral teachings of the religion be damned. That would be a mighty shaky basis, though.

There are theologians that define Israel as the entire Jewish congregation, with Christianity as a sub set of the Jews. Out of four billion only 1.3 billion will survive.
