ESCONDIDO: Mexican man admits to voter fraud
North County Times (San Diego County, CA) ^ | 9-8-2012 | Brandon Lowrey

A Mexican who was deported decades ago for drug trafficking pleaded guilty this week to living illegally in Escondido under a false identity and fraudulently voting in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, federal authorities said Friday.

Ricardo Lopez-Munguia, 45, pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted entry to the U.S. after deportation, making a false claim to U.S. citizenship, and voter fraud by an illegal alien, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney's office.

Lopez-Munguia faces a maximum term of 28 years in federal prison, followed by deportation. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 19 in San Diego.

In 1986, Lopez-Munguia was convicted of heroin trafficking. A federal judge ordered him to be deported the following year.

Officials said it was unclear when he re-entered the U.S.

Lopez-Munguia assumed the identity of Gustavo Carranza-Madrigal, a U.S. citizen, and obtained a fraudulent California driver's license, a Social Security card and a U.S. passport, according to the statement.

A Border Patrol agent arrested Lopez-Munguia on July 5 as he tried to return from Mexico, the statement said.

Despite accusations often leveled during or after elections, proven cases of voter fraud are exceedingly rare, according to several studies and reports.

I was registered in 4 states, and could easily have voted 4 X...it´s EASY as getting a drivers license.

Underclass voters change residence often. It’s easy for them to be registered in many locations.

My backyard. I note that 1/3 of the article is about how voter fraud never happens and they are just “clerical errors”.

The North County Times is 100% liberal hogwash.

My ex sister in law, Mexican, helped with La Raza voter drives and they signed up everyone..legal and illegal. They all know there is little risk in illegal voting. No one ever checks..and it only comes out if someone is caught for another crime..like this creep.

Yeah... "several studies and reports." That would be the policy brief by the New York University School of Law's non-partisan Brennan Center for Justice

The organization is currently headed by Michael Waldman, former Director of Speechwriting for President Bill Clinton from 1995–1999.

The Brennan Center is a think tank and legal activist group affiliated with New York University Law School and closely aligned with the Shadow Party of George Soros. It pursues a wide range of goals drawn from the radical agenda of Sixties activism as well as from the program of George Soros’ Open Society Institute. The Center generates “scholarly” studies, mounts media campaigns, files amicus briefs, gives pro bono support to activists and litigates test cases in pursuit of radical “change.”

The author of the "article" is, as the old saying goes, "full of crap."

When existing laws regarding voting registration are seldom enforced one would expect that examples of proven fraud are "exceedingly rare."

But that is not the point of the spin of this article.

The point is to provide anecdotal "evidence" that illegal voting is a Republican myth.

If criminal illegal aliens voted pub, by now you would have to have RFID chips implanted and polling location floors would be stained purple from the spilled ink.

So a legitimate voter had his vote canceled out because of this. You don’t see these wacko liberal judges considering that in their voter ID cases do you?

No doubt!

The figure they never quoted was how many Southern Californians are called up for jury duty, and then state they are not citizens to get out of it.

A quick cross check to the voter rolls would be very interesting...

So... here’s a little test for you:

How is this topic related to this one?:

Bed Bug Sightings Confirmed At L.A. Central Library
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2928264/posts

So taxpayer funded Bum hostels (public libraries) are NEVER infested with bedbugs or other vermin, are they?
Hospitals where the teeming unwashed hordes of our swarming “diversity” like to hang out on the Gringo’s dime aren’t festering with MRSA and antibiotic resistant flesh eating bacteria, are they?

Or so the “experts” tell us...

...Much like we are assured that election fraud is “extremely rare” and “limited to a few isolated instances”.

Just because you find one or two bedbugs, lice, crabs or fleas crawling around in your Library book that you’re reading at home in bed is no reason to be alarmed... we can all just move along, now, and have a nice day...

(*OUCH!*; What was THAT??!!! .... How did HE get re-elected??!!)

What a dumbass! If he’d stayed out of the voting booth, he’d still be collecting benefits. /S

Yeah, this guy just wanted to do his civic duty - took an afternoon off to make sure the school board had the right members.

I suspect he was swept up with the other people who didn't vote and the dems 'helped him vote' by voting for him.

Leftists just give a shoulder shrug and says something like, “See? voter ID wouldn’t stop this since he had a fake ID...”
