Sandra Fluke gives speech that ABC and CBS ignore, while Bill O'Reilly fails to get his wish?
Entertainment Weekly ^ | September 5, 2012 | Ken Tucker

Attorney and women’s health advocate Sandra Fluke addressed the Democratic convention on Wednesday, speaking of “two profoundly different futures,” one in which, she asserted, should Mitt Romney be elected, “birth control is controlled by people who will never use it [and] will redefine ‘rape,’” or the reelection of President Obama, “a man who thinks of his daughters, not his delegates.” Rachel Maddow on MSNBC said that the Democrats had juggled the convention schedule so that Fluke would appear during the 10 p.m. network-news hour. But, amazingly, ABC and CBS did not carry Fluke’s speech live.

-SNIP-

Last week, in that misty time of old, when Clint Eastwood conducted a Platonic meditation on the nature of a chair, another odd TV moment occurred. Bill O’Reilly, co-anchoring Fox News coverage of the Republican convention, said jokingly that he was “afraid of balloons,” but then went on to ask rhetorically of his co-anchors, “When Sandra Fluke speaks next week, I wonder what they’re gonna drop from the ceiling?” He continued, “There’s only one reason this woman is speaking … so if you’re gonna drop something… ,” his voice trailed off, leaving the “something” hanging in the air, as it were. Um, was he implying the Democrats would drop contraceptives? You be the judge:

O’Reilly’s co-anchors (John Roberts and James Rosen) picked up on the implication, and sounded a bit taken aback (“Oh, goodness!” said one; “There goes that suggestive O’Reilly again!” said the other).

It’s not unreasonable to think that O’Reilly was suggesting the Dems might, oh, unloose as cascade of birth-control pills on Fluke. I know it doesn’t make sense for the Democrats to make fun of their own speaker in this manner, but in the post-Eastwood era of political humor, anything goes, right?

As far as I can tell, Sandra Fluke is not an attorney. She has also been told by Georgetown University to stop referring to herself as a student there. She was enrolled in their law school at one time. I have no idea if she is still there. Her linkedin page indicates past associations there. He Wikipedia page states that she is 31 years old and Protestant. She received her BS from Cornell in 2003 in Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies. She spent at least part of the interim selecting a Catholic University with the specific intent of attending to challenge the school's health care policy.

A lot of this is old news, but some may find this enlightening.

Attorney and women’s health advocate Sandra Fluke...

But...but...but... I thought Barry's state controlled "media" said she was an innocent, young "Georgetown college law student" who just likes condoms? What's up with this?

She could have just said “I am a whore who has never had a job that and I expect other people to pay for my birth control.”

Hope and Change.

You are repeating Rush Limbaugh's mistake. Ms. Fluke's private life is relevant to this debate only in the sense that it provides liberal activists with a convenient distraction.

The media whores were just protecting the democrats again.

They know that the general public does not agree with democrats that it is a national
emergency to force taxpayers to provide condoms to sluttish round-heeled college girls.

Interesting that the liberal leaning networks avoid putting Ms Fluke on display for the voters in favor of letting them form opinions based on what the strategists are saying about what she said. And about her.

She is not nearly as sympathetic a figure as she has been portrayed in the media.

Actually its specifically not condoms (which anyone can grab by the pocketfull at EVERY college health clinic), but birth control pills.

Because condoms are, like, not as much fun.

Well, sh-yeah! There's nothing wrong with that!!/sarc.

And yet that was very naughty of Bill Riley. And a waste of a valuable resource for a large gathering of 'Rats!

You aren’t an attorney just because you graduated law school and/or passed the bar. You have to actually practice the law. That is, not make a living as a political hack.

By the way, why the heck does EW care? Because of O’Reilly? They normally cover his show, or only when he runs afoul of precious, vulnerable “women’s health” “advocates.”

>> Attorney and womens health advocate Sandra Fluke

I thought she was just some poor, 19 year old college kid that was looking for a little downtime between classes.

The basic argument of whether tax payers should pay for social choices escapes the media. I hope some part of this election comes down to referendum on what the liberal media is up to.

“”Actually its specifically not condoms””

Saw a video today of slimey Ed Schultz interviewing her at the convention and she said that O’Reilly said “condoms” falling from the ceiling and YES, it did offend her. He said no such thing....It just boggles my mind how they can tell bald face lies without so much as a twitch!I guess it must be a requirement for someone to register in that party.

What was it Hillary said to Petreaus? “You’re asking us to suspend disbelief.”

Yeah, but did Bill Clinton get his wish? Elevating the delegates is all fine and good, but what he really wanted to do is, um, elevate Sandra Fluke.

Sandra Fluke, supposedly engaged to a Mutterperl— certainly the elite leftists of all boutique leftists. What a relationship it must be, she being protestants, and all.

Reminded of Rush’s Undeniable Truth’s of Life:

#12. Condoms only work during the school year.

and one more:

#24 “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of American life.”

Couple these with the tootie fruitie boyfriend (cause obviously SHE wears the pants) and you have a pretty good picture, with her supported by ultra-socialist in-laws to be.
