Politicians love to tell stories. They put little heartwarming stories in their speeches. Today, everyone will try to define Obama’s speech. I saw the speech and there was nothing new in it. He tried to fire up his base. We will see if he did it.
Last night, I saw a movie that you should see too. Dinesh D’Souza made a movie and wrote a book, “Obama’s America”. It’s a very pragmatic look at Obama’s upbringing. There isn’t any birther stuff, but there are some autobiographical facts presented about Obama’s mentors, and his world view. Plus it overlays his record as President to back it up.
The basic theme is that Obama is not a Marxist, nor a Communist, but an “anti-colonialist”. There is a difference.
His mentors all came from what mainstream Americans would call the far left. One mentor you may know of is Reverend Wright, who is an anti-colonial thought leader from a religious perspective. There are other religious leaders that advocate for both the left and right-so it’s not a stretch to think that Wright would be able to lead an anti-American movement from his pulpit.
His other mentors are either communists(Frank Marshall), radicals(Bill Ayers), or anti-Israel(Prof Edward Said). Obama’s maternal grandfather was also a communist. His mother left his Indonesian father when he became a capitalist.
But what I find interesting is Obama’s projected end game. Obama loves big government programs. Every proposal he has made is a giant government program. Big government programs consolidate industries into big dominant players. Oligopolies, and even Monopolies that have huge power over the market. Big government programs use regulation to eliminate competition-so the big corporate fat cats have nothing to fear-except big government.
The movie says that Obama is trying to blow up the deficit intentionally. If we can make things dire enough, the government can take drastic measures to try and remedy things. If major industries are consolidated enough, it’s pretty easy to issue an executive order and take them over. We already know the Democrats would fall behind a Democratic leader and take corporate profits.
Why wouldn’t they support a Democratic leader from taking over the companies that run them? Much easier to do if they are highly consolidated. Company executives might even be stupid enough to go for it if crony capitalism was involved.
It’s an interesting movie to think about. It’s interesting not just because of Obama, but it forces you to think about colonialism, corporate colonialism, and past empires. Very thought provoking.
My heartwarming story fits this way. Years ago, my wife and I were looking at different real estate investments. Of course, real estate was trendy back in 2000! We wound up speaking with a couple our age that ran from behind the Iron Curtain. He was an athlete. They got married, and were able to secure a pass for a honeymoon in Austria. They got off the train, and never went back.
They slept in a warehouse structure. Eventually, they made their way to America and settled here. Their kids went to college. They each run a small business and made a life for themselves here.
When I talked to him about investing in real estate, he asked me where I was looking. I told him, and he retorted, “You know nothing! Why would you invest your money ever in another country? America is the greatest country on earth. It’s the greatest country that there ever was, or ever will be. Why would you be stupid and do something like that?”. I didn’t invest in any real estate-thank goodness.
But the country that my acquaintance fled to would be similar to the country he fled from if the movie is correct in its projections. Obama has no compunction to tackle the debt. He will continue to try and establish his world view into our bureaucracy.
There are plenty of Americans in the US that were born here and sincerely think that America is no different from any other colonial empire of the past. True believers. There are plenty of hangers on that will try to milk what they can out of the movement with no regard to the future. They are the crony capitalists, the grease in the machine. There are plenty of people that go along because it’s the only hope they have, or they are so shiftless and unimaginative they rely on the machine to keep them in a subsistence lifestyle.
Obama speaks to those people, those hangers on, in every speech. With them, he can remake America in his anti-colonial vision. Without them, he loses power, and we can remake America on the first principles that people are coming around to again all over the country.
The more we know they easier it is to help friends and family come to the truth...

Baracks stepfather, Mr. Soetero, went to work for an oil company, and was apparently doing quite well, and was, quite simply, too capitalistic for Barack’s mother, and therefore a bad influence on her precious son. She had to get Barry away from such evil influences, so she sent him back to Hawaii to live with his leftist grandparents.
I thought about that, but I was puzzled as to why he implied that the couple actually lived together for any period of time when all evidence points against that. Ann disappeared for the Winter semester at UH. She next shows up at the University of Washington with a 3 week old baby in late August, or early September. The address listed in the birth announcement was not their home -- ever -- according to neighbors.
BO Sr. shows up at Harvard at about the same time Ann shows up at UW. Dinesh glosses over all that and implies that BO Sr. left for Harvard years later than he did. In the mean time, Ann goes back to HI, moves in with her parents, and enrolls in school. Later she has her own apartment in HI and she meets Lolo, files for divorce, marries Lolo, drops out of school, and follows him to Indonesia.
I've read all this narrative 100 times, but I was surprised to hear Dinesh's interpretation of her split from Lolo as that he was too "captalistic". I hadn't heard that before. Always I'd heard that life became increasingly difficult in Indonesia for them because he landed on the wrong side politically and was forced out of his job. He also became an alcoholic. Interesting that she was married to 2 Muslim men who became alcoholics. !! (That is, if she ever was really married to Obama Sr.)
The question arises about their stay in Seattle as to where they got the funds to live on Mercer Island? M.I. has always been a pricey suburb. Stan was a FURNITURE salesman and not so successful, either. Mrs. Stan wasn’t that high up in banking yet. And how did they finance the move to Hawaii? Not a cheap proposition.
I know that the Communist Party of the USA used to help finance up and comers into moving into better Berkeley neighborhoods in the 1960s. Could they have had something to do with the Dunhams’ moves?

Additional insight into the snake’s nest that is Barry’s psyche. Makes me wonder if mommy dearest didn’t kick O senior to the curb for being just another drunk talking revolution instead of being the tough firebrand MauMau she thought he was.

He certainly was that, but, I think I remember the movie saying that he left and went back to Kenya, where he had a wife and at least one child. He had at least one more after her, and conceived George Obama, before drinking himself into a stupor, getting behind the wheel, and involving himself in a fatal crash.
The point of the movie is not Obama’s birth, the issue is what America will look like in 2016. I appreciate that D’Souza wasn’t distracted by birth issue.
I read in another news account that it’s surpassed “Bully” in earnings, yet that film was hyped to high heaven, this one wasn’t. Reminds me of Coulter books consistently being No. 1 without any mainstream publicity.
I accept your point, but I found it hard to accept some of Dinesh’s other assertions when he made such a glaring error. Obama has lied to the American people from the beginning — about his birth, his upbringing, his education, his travels, and his goals for America. His birth is part of that lie and should be exposed.
LOL...surpassed, all right...by a 7 to 1 margin (2016's 26 million vs. Bully's 3.5 million)...and 2016 hasn't ended its box office run yet...
Dinesh's movie is the really snazzy and well done opener.
Gilbert's DVD answers all of the questions you may have formed in your mind while watching "2016." Gilbert leaves no stone unturned.
D'Souza was focused on what's provable and more alarming.
My objection is that he reiterated the Obama “birth story” as if it were true when there is no evidence whatsoever that it is true. All birth certificates offered by the WH, so far, are forgeries. No hospital in Hawaii has actually claimed his birth. Both possible hospitals previously named have backtracked. D’Sousa should have left the subject entirely alone, if he wasn’t going to debunk it. He didn’t even offer a “many dispute these claims” disclaimer. That undermines the credibility of his other assertions.
Other than that, the movie was good. It just wan’t perfect. I thought Dinesh tread way too softly on Obama’s and the medias’ frauds.

Yes, but like his father, Obama seems to have chosen Russian-style Communism to fight colonialism.

Dunham went from Kansas to Oklahoma to Texas and back to Kansas, until she was about 13 years of age. Her parents were born in Kansas.
