How Mitt Romney May Lose the Election [News from Virginia]
Tea Party Tribune ^ | September 11, 2012 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 09/11/2012 9:47:46 AM PDT by Moseley

On September 4, 2012, Mitt Romney may have lost Virginia and the Presidential election. But Republicans could still win easily.

This election will turn on two questions Bill Clinton is pounding on: Who caused the disastrous economic collapse in 2007 and 2008? Will putting a Republican back in the White House give us another economic crash?

Republican strategists and consultants have been running away from these questions. Bill Clinton passionately blamed Republicans at the Democrat National Convention. Republicans are aiming for “just enough to squeak by.” But “good enough” is almost never good enough.

Now on September 4, Virgil Goode qualified as a candidate in Virginia for President for the Constitution Party. Losing only a few percentage points to Goode could cost Romney Virginia. And Romney is still behind in the crucial State.

Remember: Virginia conservatives were upset that only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul were on the primary ballot. Other candidates certainly bungled their petitions. But Virginia conservatives suspected manipulation.

Is the Constitution Party a threat? It is full of Ron Paul zealots. It has 438,222 registered voters. In 2008, Alan Keyes was ousted by highly-motivated Ron Paul enthusiasts. Chuck Baldwin became the 2008 candidate for President. The Constitution party was originally founded by Howard Phillips as the “US Taxpayers’ Party” in 1991.

Yep there really are “Conservatives” in VA stupid enough to vote for a guy who was a Democrat when Reagan was President.

Or will they vote for a guy who repeatedly denounced Reagan when he ran for Senate against Ted Kennedy. Hmmmm....

The GOP picked it’s upper crusted,fair-haired boy and now we will see how tassle-toe-loafers do against the Marxist in Chief, when we really needed a candidate in combat boots.

Manufacturing and employment in manufacturing are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

Mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods serve to reduce the costs of manufacturing by eliminating jobs.

The stuff still gets produced, only the labor component is disposed of.

American manufacturing continues to lead the world in terms of use of advanced technology, value and productivity achievements.

GOP should have commercials showing Reagan coming back off Carter. It can be done, it just wasn’t.

Wow you managed to contain yourself a whole minute.

You keep kidding yourself that you are acting out of any other spirit then one of malice and anger.

What are you babbling about? What is this “page and a half of text” that you seem to believe exists and which I should have read?

"American manufacturing continues to lead the world in terms of use of advanced technology, value and productivity achievements."

Which is why everything in Walmart is made in America instead of China. /s

I'm all for using advanced technology. If we ever develop a cheap general purpose robot with enough functionality that it can easily be trained to do jobs, we will have massive labor dislocations that we will need to figure out how to deal with. And at that point many products will cease to be made overseas because transportation costs will exceed the labor costs.

But when you go into Wal-Mart and everything is made in China, it's not automation that costing American's jobs. It's outsourcing and not having any protective import tariffs.

BTW, the real killer ap in the world is the INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CONTAINER ~ they've made shipping around the world so cheap that we stay in business with our advanced manufacturing systems and they stay in business with small job shops and a lot of hand tooling.

Everybody wins ~ except when they lose.

I really have no interest in returning to work in a nonmechanized automotive plant building truck engines ~ or a commercial chicken preparation factory where the highest tech was a band saw!

Just ain't gonna' do it.

"When was the last time you bought an an aircraft at Wal-Mart?"

So 25% of our people are now unemployed and you're still betting the farm on the aircraft industry?

Chinese planes challenge Boeing and Airbus

What are you going to do when we lose that too?

25% unemployment while imports are 16% of GNP and the trade deficit is huge should be the only clues you need that you need to do something different.

I don't care how low tech they are, when our people are unemployed, it's time to protect our market and put our own people back to work.

It might be different if the communist government of China didn't tax their firms 90% and then use that to buy our debt instead of goods from America. If they bought our goods equal to what we buy from them, then more of our people would be working. But they don't. So instead of more of the same, lets tax their goods when they enter the country.

it’s VITALLY important that we all rally together and elect Romney, since he’s sooooooo much better than Obama.

Even though your comment is oozing sarcasm and condescension, I think it is vitally important that we elect Romney over Obama. I say that because I understand the difference between capitalism and Marxism. Do you? I choose Bain Capital over Das Kapital. Why a conservative is unable to see that flagrantly obvious difference in these two men is absolutely mind-boggling.

Is there any question at all why the Green Party was helping Goode?

No, none at all. It's the Independence Party of American and not the Green party. The IPA in Virginia calls itself the Independent Green Party of Virginia.

My understanding is that a collector can carry more than one party's petition, but any respondent cannot sign more than one. For example, 3 parties can enlist JOHN SMITH to collect signatures for them. John Smith can ask you if you are willing to sign a petition for either the CP, the IGPV, or the LP.

In other words, they all helped each other get on the ballot because the hurdle in Virginia is so steep with the 15000 vote with a minimum of 400 per county requirement.

As you recall, luminaries such as Gingrich, Perry, and Santorum were not able to overcome that hurdle.

Sounds to me like you're liking four more years of Obama, and his brand of hope and change economics. Admitting on a conservative forum that you don't understand the difference between capitalism, and the far left economic ideology of Marxist Obama, has got to be embarrassing. Heck, even I'm embarrassed for you.

Sorry you did not get the GOP candidate you wanted. Time to stop pouting about it, suck it up and deal with it.

I don't think you understand, MNJohnnie.

While it's true that we would have preferred a different republican candidate, that doesn't really distinguish us from all but about 30% of the republican so-called base.

The real difference is that we see BOTH Obama and Romney as enemies.

Just because you're fighting one enemy does not mean you turn your operation over to a different enemy.

See how well eastern Europe appreciated that strategy when the Soviet enemies were permitted into the allied camp during WWII.

Oh, it helped us win WWII, but at the cost of slavery for millions both Europe and Asia that extends to this day.

You keep kidding yourself that you are acting out of any other spirit then one of malice and anger.

Talking to yourself in public makes you appear crazy...
[I've been watching your act for weeks now and am getting fed up with watching you insult others, then invoke God's name in vain against them]

But then again, your own rage is not beyond being understandable, given the painful circumstances we are find ourselves presently suffering.

Many here share your rage.

The trouble is, your default methodology, reverted to in times of adversity, made me think of you as a cousin to "rage monkey". I went back to that thread, and lo and behold someone had just posted a youtube video with that theme. It's an apt enough description of your approach here towards those not in agreement with you. The shooting soon enough starts.
