Poll Shows Obama Getting Lowest Jewish Support Since Carter (59%)
Commentary ^ | 9/10/12 | Jonathan Tobin

President Obama may be enjoying a slight, if likely temporary, bounce in the polls this week. But one of the surveys showing him with a lead in a tight race over Mitt Romney also provides a breakdown of the data that confirms predictions that he is losing up to a quarter of the Jewish votes he got in 2008. The Investors Business Daily/Christian Science Monitor/TIPP Poll gives a breakdown of religion along with other demographic groups and shows Obama leading among Jews by a margin of 59 to 35 percent with six percent undecided. While that is still a majority it is a dramatic decline from the 78 percent of the Jewish vote he got four years ago.

Obama has a 46-44 percent lead over Romney in the TIPP poll. That means Obama is suffering from a decline in support throughout the electorate from his 2008 victory when he won 53 percent of the vote. But the president’s loss of approximately 25 percent of Jewish voters this year is not matched by a similar decline in any other demographic group.

Romney is winning Independents by 10 point plus. 0bama is losing 35% plus of the Jewish vote. Republicans have highest number of people saying they are Republican........HOW THE HELL IS 0BAMA AHEAD?

Because the highly-regarded, marvelous, proud, opulent, empyrean, majestic, deluxe, elevated, wondrous, rarified, noble-minded, eminent, grand, marvelous, distinguished, fantastic, exalted, revered, rarefied, sumptuous, high-minded, august, magisterial, sublime.....unenrolled moderates (independent voters) are too stupid to figure out which side they are on.

"Blowing off Bibi for Letterman may cut his support even more."

"What makes Jews support Democrats in such high numbers. Strange"

Do the Jews in America who support Obama also despise Netanyahu the same as Obama does? Do they also favor Arabs over Israelis in the constant Arab/Israeli conflicts same as Obama does? I don't understand what is going on with that.

This is good news. At least some folks are finally pulling their heads out of the sand (or out of wherever they’ve had their heads inserted).

The real question is why he is getting that much.

I am not sure whether you used the term “Christian” conservative as a descriptive term referring to a subset of conservatives or whether you meant it as a pejorative. In any case, I thought I would attempt to clarify some misinformation I perceived in your post.

First, Christians don’t believe they can convert anyone. They do believe that God by His grace converts people to a saving belief in His Son Jesus. Many Christians are eager to tell non-believers the Gospel, which is the good news about Christ. But again no Christian believes they are called to tie someone up in order to witness to them. They will never hold a gun to anyone’s head or in any way coerce them to listen much less believe. We get no special reward for a witness resulting in someone’s receiving God’s grace.

Sorry, I did not mean to lecture. You are free to believe whatever you want about God and Christians. However, you might try not to offend “Christian” conservatives because there aren’t enough of you “secular” conservatives to ever win a single ballot box without us. Haven’t you noticed the states commonly called the Bible Belt are all red states? And the states with the most non-church goers are blue?

It goes without saying that Christian conservatives also can’t win at the ballot box without the help of secular conservatives.

I hope you don’t take offense because none was intended but that all conservatives could come to understand each other better.

I guess O'Reilly or Hannity bomb throwing with Alan Colmes and/or Juan Williams doesn't count, then?

No, but I do miss the Hannity and Colmes Show (though Colmes is a man I love to hate politically) as well as Equal Time with Oliver North and Paul Begala. These two shows were a great tool which shows the viewer the difference between the two parties. Neither program could compare to those we've seen of Buckley and Friedman.

I no longer watch Bill O'Reilly. He is NO William F Buckley Jr. and never will be. It's almost an insult to use his name in the same sentence.

Can’t fit a meeting in with Bibi because he has 18 holes scheduled again and again and again. A par 4 is much more important than a meeting with our best ally!

Lets see. Romney is winning Independents by 10 point plus. 0bama is losing 35% plus of the Jewish vote. Republicans have highest number of people saying they are Republican........HOW THE HELL IS 0BAMA AHEAD????????

Answer: The Mitt Romney Campaign. If only he could go after Obama and the democrats like he did his opponents in the GOP primary he would be way ahead.

I don’t remember the details, but it wasn’t me, it was a very well-known Christian leader (like Jerry Falwell) that made that stupid comment. I just bring it up because a single stupid comment like that can cost the Republicans 1,000,000 votes and maybe cause them to lose the election.

No one has ever been forced to “convert” to any religion under any president of the U.S. This is just a dumb fear and unsubstantiated.

I think the moniker “Ted Baxter” fits O’Reilly to a tee.

The youth have been perverted by our universities. Conservatives ignored this for the last thirty years, and the result is Obama.

While I agree that we should go after the youth, I don’t think they would watch the kind of show you are talking about. We need a conservative John Stewart.

What makes Jews support Democrats in such high numbers. Strange

The only single explanation is that those supporting hussein are for the most part secular Jews. Within that group of secular Jews are those who are anti-Zionists. Within the group of anti-Zionist Jews are the anti-Semitic Jews.

I keep staring at the electoral map here -— scary stuff

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html

and even worse if you look at the “No Toss Ups”

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map_no_toss_ups.html

The problem is that several large electoral states are locked in left
