It’s my opinion that the devil’s triangle of Boston, Providence and Hartford is, per capita, the most corrupt 2200 square miles in the country.

Based upon what criteria?

Amount of monies? (Wall Street would get my vote)

Effect on GDP or other macroeconomic data? (Wash, DC)

Or per capita acceptance of criminality? (Throw dart at Chicago, Trenton/Camden, NJ, Baltimore, Philly, Gary, IN)

I have always viewed Chicago as a different type of corruption than Detroit.

Detroit suffers like a third world nation where a small number of people control all parts of the city government. I would view that corruption as bribes, theft, and incompetence.

Chicago is a pay to play city. You literally can't do business in that town without paying off the various levels of government. I knew a guy that wanted to bid on a contract with the city. At the office controlling the bidding process he was told he needed to hire a specific consultant to "guide" him through the application process or he wouldn't be considered for the contract.

No Detroit?

Detroit doesn't have enough $ for bribes.

At one SE KY (Appalachia) was considered among the most corrupt parts of the country, but I don’t know if the anti-poverty programs worked there. It’s an area one might not have thought of.

Back in the 1950’s, Life Magazine (it was reasonably fair back then) ran an article on Hudson County New Jersey as the most corrupt county in the Country.

Based on what I’ve heard about the place, it probably still is. A Democrat stronghold, they raise the dead there and let them vote. Not only that, they even change party affiliation from Republican to Democrat in gratitude!!!!

Since ILL-ANNOY has two consecutive governors serving Federal prison time, it HAS TO BE ILL-ANNOY aka Madiganistan.

Swamps are beautiful, useful, natural resources.

I agree. I love swamps skeeters and all.
