The unprecedented regulation, which was proposed in the spring, will apply to all restaurants, fast-food joints, delis, movie theaters, Broadway theaters, workplace cafeterias, sports stadium and food carts. All of these businesses will not be allowed to sell sugary drinks including non-diet sodas, teas and even certain coffees that are larger than 16 oz. …

Can’t you get a 16oz soda if you get a free condom or a city funded abortion?

Just sell 16oz of beverage in a 40oz cup with a small bag of ice.

Same thing they were selling before, just some assembly required.

Everyone involved in proposing, enacting and enforcing this policy should be immediately laid off, as it is evident their time is spent wasting the taxpayers’ money.

This is what every liberal does, kids can’t read and they waste time and resources on liberal crap.

Bloomberg may be smarter than you think. This should cut down on the crime rate in the city. It’s hard to carry two 8 oz drinks and a gun at the same time.

In this case, it’s fortunate NYC is in an electorally lost state... otherwise Bloomberg would be an embarrassment.

Goodness! These LIB asshats know no bounds with their stupidity.

It bears repeating.

One can only hope that in a Free country, the idiots who fomented such a law are properly rewarded by the derision of the people whom they seek to control.

If stupid shit like this doesn't cause rebellion in New Yorkers' minds, I don't know what will.

Are they really so submissive as to allow government to tell them how much soda they can drink?

Where's the outrage? This Big Brother law is Unamerican, and should be laughed at and defied until it is repealed...

I think if I owned a business this effected, I’d make sure the drinks were 15.9 oz, or sell two 8 oz drinks with a free, 16 oz empty cup. And I confess. I bought a dwarf peach tree counting on global cooling because the temperatures are too high where I live for it to produce fruit... yet. Maybe next year. My middle finger to the global warming crap.

Reminds me of a sheriff in a certain backward armpit of a small town who was buying two 6-packs of beer. The clerk said the 12-pack was cheaper. The sheriff said no, he couldn’t drink a whole 12-pack. True story.

Does NYC tax sodas? Because if it does, the last laugh is Bloomburg’s when folks simply start purchasing two sodas instead of one. The city is now collecting double the tax revenue on sodas!

Just wondering how long it will be for this “regulation” to go to court. It’s sad that it has to be done, but someone needs to sue Bloomies ass off!
