OPINION: Libyan Invasion Imminent, In September, 2012 -- But For ALL The Wrong Reasons [Vanity]

Based on the bits and pieces of information scattered across the web, I am about to embark on a bold prediction:

America will invade Libya in the next 7 to 10 days.

Here's a few pieces of information that lead me to this conclusion:

1. Marines headed to Libya to reinforce security
2. Obama vows justice for ambassador killing Kinda some pretty tough talk, coming out of such a 'chill out' President, no?
3. BREAKING!!Libya closes Benghazi airport after Islamists fire at U.S. drones in which we learn "The closure of the airport prompted speculation that the United States was deploying special forces in preparation for an attack against the militants who were involved.'

So, is a military action wise so close to an election? It is, if you want the Rally 'Round the Flag effect.

What is the Rally Round the Flag effect? It is a boost in Presidential popularity during a military engagement, as "in times of crisis, the American public sees the President as the embodiment of national unity".

This effect is strong, but short lived, and tends to peak at a little under two months.

A little under two months from now would put the peak squarely on Election day.

Would Obama be so narcissistic, so self-serving, so manipulative, as to time an attack to maximize his chance of altering the election for President?

I think we all know the answer to that.

I want this headline out there. I want it to be findable and searchable. I want other pundits, much higher profile ones than little old me, to head this off at the pass, by publicly shaming Obama prior to this action.

Keep in mind that the Fwench, the U.K. and the U.S. are holding joint "mine-sweeping exercises" predicated on hypothetical blockage of the Straits of Hormuz...later this month.

Timed to coincide with the most likely dates of an Israeli attack on Iran.

Is Obama doing this to bottle up Israel (AWACS to detect their planes and then surreptitiously to notify Iran)?

Or is this so our troops are "busy in Libya" and cannot help Israel?

I doubt the US will invade. Libya is supposed to be Obama’s ‘smart war’, where he showed that dumb ole G. Bush how its done. Sprnkle a few bombers in with some drones, and presto, you’ve won a war.

To put ‘boots on the ground’ would negate this (heck, the administration wouldn’t even acknowledge SF was in country ‘painting’ targets for the bombers).

The Libyan government, as the story goes, is supposed to be a merry band of freedom fighters, in search of democracy. So we can’t attack them. So who do we attack? I’m sure we’ll launch a few drone strikes at some desert training camp, chests will be pounded, and all will be declared well.

I believe you hit the nail on the head. This whole thing has been orchestrated. 0bama (or his handlers, what’s the difference) have contacts with these muslims. I’ll go ahead and put on the tin foil hat. 0bama is complicit in all of this, he was aware it was going to happen, he WANTED it to happen. Maybe he didn’t plan on the murder of his ambassador (oh those crazy Libyans, they got a little out of hand). But he sheds no tears over it. Stevens was expendable (much as Kamenev & Zinoviev were).

0bama’s strategy is to “invade” Libya, the riots stop, and he is the hero. Because he orchestrated it beginning, he will orchestrate its end. The one thing that bothered me about all of this was why the muzzies would endanger the re-election of their brother in the white hut. Now I know; they are willing participants in the kabuki theater that will guarantee his re-election.

There is one other piece of the puzzle. Domestically, it will stifle dissent. Worse, it will, as a practical matter, impose sharia law in the United States. It will become a crime to speak out against islam.

We (the majority of Americans) were told it was a war on terror. It wasn’t. It has always been Islam’s War on the West. We were never allowed to believe that.

If what you predict comes to pass, the war has been lost. Islam won.

Yes, he would ‘Wag the Dog’, as if that would create a sympathetic response from Americans, but it won’t. He is so despised by most true Americans, that they would see right through it, and it would reinforce their hatred and anger, not ‘Rally around the Flag’.

Such misuse and of our armed men and women in uniform would be treasonous.......................
