Unreported Racism: 0% Of African-Americans Support Romney
CBS Dallas - Fort Worth ^ | 11 September 2012 | Scott Paulson

According to the NBC and Wall Street Journal’s poll conducted in August of 2012, 0% – that’s “zero percent”, not a typo – of African-Americans support the GOP presidential candidate-to-be Mitt Romney in the presidential election of 2012.

When your poll says 0% of any demographic is voting for a certain candidate, it's time to throw out the poll and start over.

As an aside, in 1960, when I was -10 (!) years old, my Mom voted for Kennedy because he was Catholic and she was Catholic and there had never been a Catholic President before. That was the one and only reason. Had Kennedy survived, she said her vote would have been for whomever ran against him because she realized she had voted for him for the wrong reason. I know there are blacks out there that voted Obama for “historic” reasons. And many have seen the error of their ways.

There are also prominent black people who have made it known that they will be voting for Romney/Ryan not zero come November.

Just two examples off the top of my head are Allen West and JC Watts. This article is simply not credible.

Beyond this, Glenn Beck refers to this very poll back in August, where he has anecdotal evidence ("the sea of African-Americans who took to Twitter to express their support for Romney after feeling as if they were being ignored — or better yet, as if they don’t exist at all") that many African American CONSERVATIVES will be voting for Romney/Ryan (see Black Conservatives Make Their Voices Heard After Poll Shows Romney Support Among African-Americans at Zero Percent)

Of course it’s true. 0% in a poll that has a margin of error, and rounding, simply shows how extreme support for Obama is among one group but not that there are no counter examples.

I stayed respectful to you, please don’t call me a liar or a cheerleader. My list of preferred candidates started out with Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, etc, all the way down to Romney. Once he became the Republican candidate, I researched him more and was pleased to discover he is not the liberal Satan people portray him to be.

Regarding the youtube clip, I will decide on that once I can find the section prior to what he said as it is quite easy to take a brief piece of someone’s statement and make it seem more extreme than it is by removing the context before and after.

Regarding his actual actions relating to gay marriage, he fought it tooth and nail as governor. His actions and history contradict the “pro-homosexual” accusation I keep seeing.

I was just speaking for myself and why I felt I could support him.

I can’t believe how many posters here do not understand the concept of “rounding”: “0%” means less than 0.5%.

Oh, you can believe it. In the pool of FReepers reading this, half have reading skills below average.

Now half of you will laugh and half will be offended without knowing quite why... Think about it.

I actually hate the term African-American. Those born in this country are Americans - period!! Why the hyphenated words? Just because some of their ancestors came from Africa, doesn’t make them African, only by descent. Why shouldn’t we all use a hyphenated name, such as German-American, Irish-American, etc. Its time to stop this nonsense. This is done to clearly identify those of a minority group.

By the way, I’m not sure I like the term black either. Some of those I’ve met have a very pretty brown skin color. Why not call themselves browns? See how silly all of this is?

Absolutely. Only white people can be racist. Black people who are prejudiced are only exhibiting “racial bias” (whatever the hell that means...)

If Romney were at the top of the Dem ticket he'd win in a landslide. I'll say what most FReepers know but are too timid to admit. Romney will lose because he is running in the wrong party!

I did not know that, that I was blaque, but I must me as I believe exactly as you do. Plus the fact that Mittens has five sons and not one of them served.

Even McCain managed to get 6% of the black vote in ‘08. These numbers are bogus.

“I’m encountering black people just within my small circle of acquaintance who quietly admit that they are going to vote for Romney/Ryan.”

I’m seeing the same, but because of plantation rules they don’t dare let others know they’re undermining the Dem massa. Not a lot of them, but these were people who would NEVER have strayed from the plantation four years ago. The sinking tide is lowering ALL boats, and many blacks are realizing their misery has worsened under The Sultan. Of those, a small number will actually go out and cast a ballot for Romney - they just can’t put a bumper sticker on their car.

“there are black people who are not voting for Obama the same goes with hispanics.”

I think the number of Hispanics voting for Romney will be much better than McCain had in 2008; there is something culturally unacceptable about a Hispanic man lying around all day without working, and they know it has to be addressed.

They are unhinged and crazed by what they KNOW is going to happen in November so these lies become an opiate to sooth their pain - poor babies.

Still stuck on color instead of character.
Mayor Marion Barry of new jeresy is the poster boy. Caught on film in a hotel doing crack with prostitutes is re elected....AGAIN! Old news but worth it.

I don’t believe this. Everyone regardless of color, knows that the affirmative action experiment was a colossal failure this time, and they are embarrassed for blindly supporting this guy in 2008.

There are plenty of patriotic, well qualified Americans out there; who just happen to have African ancestry.
One will be a successful Republican President someday.

"I'm not voting for Obama but I can't waste my vote on a man who lacks a core. Can't do it."

This isn't what your choice is. Your choice this election is "How do we get rid of Obama before he destroys this nation and your individual life with it." I'm not a fan of Romney, but he represents the ONLY option you have to get rid of Obama. This election has nothing to do with who Romney might have been or can be. This election is entirely about who and what Obama is.

“I actually hate the term African-American. Those born in this country are Americans - period!!”

-—Agreed. And I don’t think the Federal govt should ever, EVER be allowed to ask or record one’s color or ethnicity on any type of application, document or license. It should be a totally color-blind, “equal protection” for all system of government.
