A new poll finds President Obama opening up a commanding 11-point lead in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

A Philadelphia Inquirer poll released on Saturday shows Obama with 50 percent support to Romney’s 39 among likely voters in the state.

Obama has expanded his 8-point lead in the same poll taken last month, where he topped Romney with 51 percent to 42.

This just cannot be possible. There must be something in the water - or they’ve replace it with koolaid.

People LIKE Obama. Even more important, they WANT to like Obama. Simple as that. He's run a masterful campaign, the Democrats had a very effective convention, and Hussein has given folks enough reasons not to blame him for the rotten economy.

The blue states are simply coming home.

One of my FR posts I stated that Romney made one mistake. He intends to replace Bernanke, consider gold standard. Both are against what the Wall Street bankers want. You will see a gradual shift behind the scenes from Romney to Obama by the rich powers to be. Obama was backed in 2008 after Clinton promise she would investigate and go after the bankers. The radical left/Chicago went to the bankers with a devils pact. Back radical Obama and in return no investigation/prosecution of bankers and let the 5 year statue of limitations run out. The bankers made the deal and within one month the MSM ignored Clinton and money poured into Obama’s campaign coffer. FR think MSM is dominated by leftwing liberals, it is true until the top seven advertisers says otherwise. When Romney stated firing the Fed chairman, replacing it with a strong dollar one, and consider gold as real basis for money, this is worst then having to deal with Obama as POTUS. If implemented banks no longer can expand paper money and use it to camouflage their schemes. Strong dollar means deflation of current overblown asset prices to real market prices, meaning more mortgage notes held by banks are more worthless. Banks have been able to avoid free market based losses by bailout and Fed printing of money and debt. I think Romney will lose because with Wall Street bankers mandating the MSM to black out on his positive actions and harping/magnifying his gaffes, the GOP candidate has the firepower of a third party candidate. My prediction based on what I see, Romney will win the popular vote but lose the Electoral College.

The Romney/GOPe strategy is, “Vote for me, I’m not Obama!”

"....that many stupid people anywhere in America"

You obviously have not spent much time in Pennsylvania.

These are the people that re-elected John Murtha AFTER he called them racists. Murtha called our Marines "cold blooded murders" including one young man that lives in his district; and still he was re-elected.

These are the people that voted for obama AFTER he said they cling to their guns and religion and are afraid of people "different" than them.

I live here, I love them, but believe me, there's a boat load of stupid people in this state.

Philadelphia Inquirer is a liberal rag. Negatives about Republican convention, front-page drooling over Dems.

What I hate is our obsession with polls, that they can use them to depress the vote.

The only thing worth looking at in regards to these polls is the choice among independents. As long as these polls are not complete fabrications, the independent numbers will reflect the real state of the electorate and trajectory of the campaigns.
Right now before our eyes, the Leftist media is maliciously attempting to cover up zero’s Mideast policy failures, so why not go all in with phony poll models and outright poll fabrications if it helps promote their statist agenda? If a criminal can rationalize one crime, why not rationalize two or three more crimes? The Leftist media’s lies are bigger and more numerous every day because they are morally bankrupt, just like the criminal.

Gee! With the Middle East burning, economy in the tank, unemployment up, jobs down, national debt rising, cost of gas up, World respect down, why wouldn’t I want this team re-elected. Oh, and can you imagine a Supreme Court Justice Eric Holder?!

This makes me think Romney might take Pennsylvania. Big shifts skewed polls reflect fear and cover up. Besides, it is hard to believe their could be so many gay people in Pennsylvania.

I mistakenly came across a lib radio talker (the station has multiple formats) and the only thing I heard was “The Republicans can't beat Obama and win this election unless they steal it.” It must be one of their talking points in case America has an awakening.

Dude, you are the original Debbie Downer.

If Obama loses, you owe FR an apology.

And I SURE don't see how you can say the Dem convention was ANYTHING other than a fiasco. The takeaway most people got was the Dems hate God and Israel.

No, I am realist. I am accurately pointing out why Obama is so resilient - even though his stewardship of the economy has been incredibly awful. Lou Cannon (known for his work as a biographer of Reagan) just had a great piece about that yesterday. Likeability matters, it matters a LOT. Far more than most people would like to accept. Aside from the R/R campaign being uninspiring, the fundamental problem is that people WANT to like Obama. Despite everything, they STILL want to like him. That's the main reason why he's winning.

And I SURE don't see how you can say the Dem convention was ANYTHING other than a fiasco.

Yes, because you have zero objectivity. You're wearing only your partisan hat. In analyzing political races, you've got to be able to put that aside and look at the actual facts. Much as we hated the Dem convention, Obama got a sizable bounce out of it. It worked for them. It swayed Americans in Obama's favor. The polling numbers prove it and most political analysts/commentators on our side have even conceded that their prime time combo of Moochelle, Clinton and Obama dramatically helped their cause.
