Iran commander: 'Nothing will remain' of Israel if it takes military action
Published September 16, 2012
Associated Press

TEHRAN – The top commander in Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard warned Sunday that "nothing will remain" of Israel if it takes military action against Tehran over its controversial nuclear program.

Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari said Iran's response to any attack will begin near the Israeli border. The Islamic Republic has close ties with militants in Gaza and Lebanon, both of which border Israel.

Iran has in the past made reference to the destruction of Israel but his comments at a Tehran news conference were unusually strongly worded and detailed.

Why we don’t arm the opposition there is a question I’d like someone to answer.

exciting times to live in

Yes, especially when you realize that this event triggers the prophetic turning of Israel back to the Lord and to Jesus Christ (Ezekiel 39:22). This is in turn amazing because Israel's return to the Lord also indicates, I believe, the beginning of the seven-year "day of vengeance" (the seven year tribulation of the "wrath of the lamb") (Revelation 6:16-7:17). (Note that Israel will be burning the aftermath of the massacre for seven years (Ez 39:9).) This also triggers the amazing event of Jesus, "as a thief," taking His Church (us) up to Heaven where from the Heavenly Mezzanine, in between servings of the marriage of the Lamb feast celebration, we'll be watch the earth-shaking events of Matthew 24 and Revelation unfold (Rev 19:7). Very exciting.

It's not a matter of if but when. As you know, no one knows exactly when that will be, but we should know "the tines and the seasons" (1 Thess. 5:1-6) which I believe we are in. He's coming very soon. Hallelujah!

“The idea is to do the deed all at once.......”

Unfortunately, there's no “we” in this equation with Jarret/Soros and the telepromter reading, pecker puffing, son of a communist bitch & muslim goat herder at the helm.

There's no way Israel(alone) has the assets to neutralize Iran by conventional means. Not to mention the consequences if they try.......How many neo Jihad-Jerk nations and their allies will descend upon Israel?

Israel will have no choice but to go nuclear if the many nations of Islam roll towards Her (I wouldn't count Egypt out). What happens if Russia gets involved?

A farkin mess brought to you buy idiot American voters and a criminal U.S. “press” corpse

you have to thank Obama for adding to this....
I see the issue from a different perspective.

Why doesn’t someone just say he plays for the other side?

Or better yet, he already knows exactly what is in the tube?

This arab spring thing is just one of Obama’s orchestrated, choreographed and conducted projects in building and consolidating his North African caliphate. Being muslim, he knows exactly what he is doing, and at America’s expense. As a result , we have a Ghazi operating in our White House.
Too many people are blind to this.

Strategically, his goal was to encapsulate Israel. Soon they will take a run at it and if they find it easy going, then they will take another run at America.

Worst part? Obama has a penchant for dictators and “rulers” and the alien/muslim feels the same should be for America. It will be a bitch prying his ass from the White House. I believe he will attempt to hang on to power at any cost.

Obama’s strategy is not pro American, rather the exact opposite/

A weak America strips the world of stability, leadership, prosperity and success for all. Instability will inject endless war, poverty and suffering.

I presume Israel has stockpiles of weapons-grade nuclear material and of the devices, such that it can load the devices and get them into the air on short notice.

Should Israel be attacked with a nuclear weapon, the restraints of the Nuclear Non-proliferation treaty are bye bye (this is right in the treaty). This would mean Israel or any ally of Israel could, without authorization of the UN Security Council, retaliate with nuclear weapons (and/or in any other way it deems fit).

I doubt Obama would join in a retaliation. He’d hem and haw and try to find some way to nuance the thing.

I really don’t know what Romney would do. But, there’s a chance he’d be more decisive.

The real advantage of the U.S. joining in is that we have such an enormous stockpile of nuclear weapons, as well as other weapons, that we could make sure the war over very quickly and in a way that would dissuade others from joining in.

In other words, after 10,000 years or so, Iran could be used for a giant skating rink.

Now, as to preventing a first strike, no matter that we said we might use nuclear weapons first in a defense of Europe, no, I don’t think we would have, and I certainly don’t think we would with respect to Iran.

But, we have plenty of options short of nuclear weapons for inflicting enormous damage on Iran, given a sufficient provocation, so as to cripple their nuclear program.

Given the failure of sanctions, this is our military option.

Our role in the security of the world is vastly different from anybody else’s. We have the strategic role. We have to preclude any country from even thinking about starting a war.

This is what “peace through strength” means.

And, this is why we should not become “decisively engaged” in regional wars. In 2000, as a candidate, George W. Bush understood this. However, he violated this position when he got us into re-constructing Afghanistan and Iraq. We, and the peace of the world, are worse off for Bush violating the position he himself stated as a candidate. We need to return to “peace through strength.”

Probably not a good idea to continually threaten somebody who has the means to destroy you AND has had plenty of time to give the retaliation strategy lots of thought and preparation. LOL

That was 32 years ago. It was also just as the islamic revolution happened and if you read about Iran you would know that the majority of their military were exiled or in jail or deserted. On top of that Iraq was supported militarily and economically by US and the UK and our masters Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Sunni countries. It is silly to make fun of an enemy and beat your chest and take them for granted. Hezbollah, which should be nothing really as they have no armor or air force, embarassed israel a few years ago.
Underestimating our enemy is the first step in suffering a big loss.

*******
Agree. We’ve already seen ample evidence that he has no regard for the Constitution and circumvents the congress at will (e.g., the Libyan “kinetic” action). He clearly has a messianic complex that could well manifest itself in an unprecedented power grab. And why not? He can always count of a sympathic media to back him.

I also agree with your statement about his strategic goal of encapsulating Israel. Getting more obvious by the day.

they will not let it happen again.

I agree. Israel is not a political correct entity. You mess with them and you can be assured they will react swiftly.
Case in point...the 7 day war with Egypt a few years ago.
