Wonkbook: Romney campaign in disarray
WaPo ^ | Monday, September 17, 2012 | Ezra Klein

Posted on 09/17/2012 6:10:05 AM PDT by upchuck

Mike Allen and Jim Vandehei reveal the disarray within the struggling Romney campaign: ”Stuart Stevens, Mitt Romney’s top strategist, knew his candidate’s convention speech needed a memorable mix of loft and grace if he was going to bound out of Tampa with an authentic chance to win... So Stevens, bypassing the speechwriting staff at the campaign’s Boston headquarters, assigned the sensitive task of drafting it to Peter Wehner, a veteran of the last three Republican White Houses and one of the party’s smarter wordsmiths. Not a word Wehner wrote was ever spoken. Stevens junked the entire thing, setting off a chaotic..., scramble that would produce an hour of prime-time problems for Romney.”

The bottom line of the Politico story: ”Romney associates are baffled that such a successful corporate leader has created a team with so few lines of authority or accountability.” Romney’s mishandling of the Middle East crisis was driven by desperation. ”Suddenly, the president was facing just the kind of externality that his team had been bracing for: a full-blown foreign-policy crisis less than eight weeks out from Election Day. And a campaign marked by stasis and even torpor was jolted to life as if by a pair of defibrillator paddles applied squarely to its solar plexus. Moments like this are not uncommon in presidential elections, and when they come, they tend to matter. For unlike the posturing and platitudes that constitute the bulk of what occurs on the campaign trail, big external events provide voters with something authentic and valuable: a real-time test of the temperament, character, and instincts of the men who would be commander-in-chief. And when it comes to the past week, the divergence between the resulting report cards could hardly be more stark…Here was America under attack, with four dead on foreign soil. [snip]

Ezra Klein and Dana Millbank have catfights to see which one can be 0bama’s Monica.

Klein and Millbank have given thousands more lewinskys than the young, chubby jap whore that changed the slang for blowjob to lewinskys and made it easier for teenagers to justify oral sex {as if they needed to justify it, if it feels good, just do it}.

A United States ambassador was killed last week on Sept 11- dragged through the streets.

Romney says something and they attack HIM.

No response; this week the Obama camp is getting kudos for their foreign policy.

The DNC was touting foreign policy at their convention and not a peep about foreign policy at the GOP convention not even while active duty soldiers and marines are killed weekly oversees.

THe Romney camp needs a manager, but today, because they don’t have one.

Oh yes it is zero.

I have eyes and ears.

I don’t have any experience as an anti American operative, but I can see that coming from the Ob camp and from the media.

Romney is coming off as a wimp and he’d better get something going today.

“I’d sure like to see Romney handle the media instead of it handling him.”

Get the twist out of your panties.

Romney smacked down the presstitutes at that press conference last week. The MSM with the help of some attention whore GOPers just went ahead and followed Team Kenyas talking points anyway.

It really matters little what Romney does at the point, he is going to be attacked from one direction or the other.

The headline, “ROMNEY CAMPAIGN IN DISARRAY” is all it takes. Few will read the entirety, and most don’t care about the history of the author.

Back to the primaries, ask yourself the single one event during the debates that fired you up......that really got you excited and you will know who our candidate SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Romney IS doing a lousy job. He is like a robot, says nothing really. He is incapable of firing up the base, he is a horrible speaker and will be destroyed in the debates, he is fodder for the liberal media. Bain and his wealth was going to be the issue, a candidate tried to tell us, but he was shut down by the likes of Hume and friends at Fox. Coulter, Malkin, Levin, picked our candidate. They wanted Romney, someone who could beat Obama. Romney will stick us just like McCain
did, with Obama.

LOL! And nothing will get lost in translation between the media and the consumer. You seem to be unaware of how the msm operates in this country.

I believe that is called a “DasiyChain” or “Circle Something” by the Progressive Liberal American Press.

One of the best books I have read analysing Media basis is Bob Kohn’s book “JOURNALISTIC FRAUD: How The New York Times Distorts the News and Why It Can No Longer Be Trusted”

It is kinda like book:
“The New York Times Manual of Style and Usage : The Official Style Guide Used by the Writers and Editors of the World’s Most Authoritative Newspaper”

except it is the manual the reporters/editors keep in the bottom drawer, underneath their Penthouse and Gay Magazines.

Foreign policy is not on his agenda. He hasn’t mentioned it. Not during the convention and just one paragraph since the events of last week.

Obama is favored for his foreign policy four days after his Secretary of State holds a dinner AT the State Dept. for the Libyans, from where our ambassador was killed four days prior, on the anniversary of sept 11, 20 (twenty) of our foreign embassies are experiencing revolt, an dthis is just to start, not mentioning these embassies have no real defense, there was advance notice of these uprisings, Ob and his team have not only ushered these people in, they are feted as we speak, as wonderful, while Ob rejects Netanyahu and Ob is considered better at foreig policy than Romney.

We haven’t heard from Romney on foreing policy and there are 6 weeks or so until the election.

His campaign is terrible.

What’s with the Haiku responses..ok let me try this

You are a troll

Here to stir up discontent

Breeding negativity while sitting around in stained underwear in Mom’s basement

You are like leaf without tree, bird without nest while wind blows along the tranquil lake....

Problem is the majority of the American voters will take this as gospel. Romney will drop further in the polls this week as this story will be repeated by the state run media.

Do not be ‘misled’.
This is ALL a part of Assholrod’s ‘demoralization’ strategy. Put out stories that indicate disarray, in the other guy’s campaign, publish polls showing him falling way behind, even though you oversample Dems by 50%.

I watched ABC evening news Friday and was astounded that they put out a ‘news’ story that began with ‘Romney’s poll numbers are crashing......”

“Get the twist out of your panties.”

Really?

That makes Romney’s campaign strong?

Offensive language is not helpful. Certainly not in this situation.

There’s not a lot of time and Romney should be way out by now, handling the media or ignoring them.

He agrees to do his debates in their arena.

How’s that going to go for him?

Romneys’ campaign is horrible. I am going to vote for him over anything period.

But to say I am enthusiastic? No way. Why is he even running?

Ah, no.

Romney is unaware of ho the media operates.

Most voters are uninformed headline readers.

A vast amount of voters don’t want what’s best for the country, just what it can and will seemingly do for them.

Romney can get in front of this or not.

But he is not out in front.
