CRANSTON, R.I.—School officials in the Rhode Island city of Cranston have ended their traditional father-daughter dances and mother-son ballgames, saying the activities are a violation of state gender discrimination law. School Superintendent Judith Lundsten tells the Providence Journal ( http://bit.ly/Pv6SzE) the move came in response to a complaint from a single mother, who brought her case to the American Civil Liberties Union after her daughter wasn't allowed to attend a father-daughter dance.

Lundsten says school attorneys found while federal gender discrimination laws exempt such events, Rhode Island's law does not.

Hope she’s happy now. Before her suit her daughter couldn’t attend the father daughter dance. Now that she’s brought her suit, her daughter can’t attend the father daughter dance. Sure fixed that didn’t she?

What's the moonbat issue here? They want it to be "parent-entity-daughter dance" and "other-parent-entity-son ballgame"?

Not at all. They want parent-child dance & ball game.

I could make some dirty innuendoes about wanting 'adult-child' ball games, as well; but that is only what a sub-set of them want and are pushing for.

The lawsuit should have been against herself, since it's her fault that her daughter doesn't know who the father is. It must take an incredibly bitter loser to deny whatever kids want to attend a dance like this the opportunity simply because she's not enough of a parent to have arranged her life so that her daughter would have two parents.

Amen. Where are the much-vaunted "male role models" the turkey baster set insisted they would provide? Doesn't the mom have a gay brother or college buddy who would step up?

Good enough for ‘em...
12% unemployment, legislature spends all their time on gay marriage, re-elects people whose last name is Kennedy just because...
My in-laws (husband’s bros) are in RI and right now, the way I feel about them, I wouldn’t spit on them if they were on fire....
Grrrrrrrrr.

One thing about this country that could use a change is the fact that One simple minded moron who complains loud and long can screw up thousands of other people.

Common sense is dead Minorities rule.

The heterophobes want to redefine homosexuality as normal, and heterosexuality as deviant.

And when they succeed, there will be zero tolerance for "deviants."

If people at the school want a Father-Daughter dance, they can organize one privately.

Why on earth are schools in the dance business, anyway?

I don’t support this woman and her lawsuit, but let’s not be helpless. We can organize dances for our kids if we want to.

No surprise. Just want until Father’s Day and Mother’s Day are criminizalized in the name of “tolerance” and “inclusiveness”.

How can a woman use a urinal without making a mess?

(I’m not asking advice for myself; I’m just wondering how other women can do it).

The mess is beside the point. It’s that she can’t. Anything some people can’t do upset them to no end.
