This is insanity! Excerpt:

Obama's Four Gallons of Gas Minimum Mandate

By Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), Special to The Hill

The latest mandate handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is so ridiculous, even I was shocked. The EPA has now mandated how much gasoline you must buy at certain gas stations. Say hello to the Obama Administration’s four gallon minimum.

This unprecedented EPA overreach applies when filling up at a gas station that provides both E15 and E10, gasoline with 15 or 10 percent of ethanol, respectively, from the same hose.

At the insistence of the ethanol industry, the Obama Administration is pushing E15 into the marketplace, regardless of the serious concerns about the fuel’s impact on drivers. From its inception, E15 is a study in the consequences of government interference in the marketplace. The EPA’s decision to set a minimum purchase requirement is just the most recent example.

-snip-

The EPA approved E15 for sale in the U.S. using a partial waiver, meaning it is only approved for some vehicles on the road— cars 2001 and later.

I’ve got a five gallon gasoline container. I plan to fill it half-full tomorrow.
The clerk can either take my money or Zero and the EPA can kiss my a**.

With a 32 gallon tank, 4 gallon won’t turn off the low fuel light. However my can for the lawnmower is only 3 gal. Maybe I can get a subsidy from Obozo to hire a lawn care service.

Ethanol just killed a very good Craftsman lawnmower. My chainsaw doesn’t want to run right either.

I’ll say it again, not a day goes by that this regime does something that makes me want to pull my hair out and scream.

Interestingly, here in Alabama almost all the gas stations I frequent now have Ethanol FREE 87 Octane pumps.

Three guesses which pumps have the most takers.

Holy crap. If they want to increase gasoline consumption then get the price down to 2 bucks per gallon. Sales will skyrocket. Heck, I’d buy plenty so I can refill my 5 gallon storage containers again with “cheap” gas.

What's the difference between a regulation and a law?

Congress is to write laws, not an ABC agency.

Congress is so lazy they have to outsource their Constitutional duty to some ABC prolies. No surprise there, except that we put up with it.

The more we put up with, the more we get!

From its inception, E15 is a study in the consequences of government interference in the marketplace. The EPA’s decision to set a minimum purchase requirement is just the most recent example........
“EPA requires that retail stations that own or operate blender pumps either dispense E15 from a dedicated hose and nozzle if able or, in the case of E15 and E10 being dispensed from the same hose, require that at least four gallons of fuel be purchased to prevent vehicles and engines with smaller fuel tanks from being exposed to gasoline-ethanol blended fuels containing greater than 10 volume percent ethanol.”

We are still allowed to own and drive cars?

If your car can’t handle E15, you’d eventually ruin it by not buying around four gallons.

The stupid tyrannical thing is that you have to have any alcohol in your gas.

If you need alcohol free gas, by premium and wash it with water. It will get rid of the alcohol, but take away a couple octain points.

I went to the local gas station last week to fill up my truck and get several cans filled for my tractor. At 25 gallons the machine automatically shut off even though I did not get my last can filled. Is there a Maximum now of 25 gallons?

I think people have the wrong idea here. They are trying to PROTECT your lawn mower from getting damaged when you end up trying to buy one gallon of E10 and end up unintentionally buying something between E10 and E15 by getting a “hoseful” of the last user’s E15 purchase. It’s a consumer protection thing and not a mandate to make you buy more E15.

This story is a good one to post to Facebook & other media, to drive a wedge in between your lib friends (if you have some left, as I do) and their beloooooooved Obama. They might not be so thrilled at being micromanaged on issues like this!

Carry a 5 gallon can with you at all times.

This will affect motorcycle riders hard. Also mopeds.

I don’t think many of those vehicles even hold 4 gallons.

Find gasoline with NO Ethanol at Find Ethanol-Free Gasoline Station.

Ethanol does damage to your engine.

IMHO what is this about?

Small engines, especially 2 strokes, you buy a gallon or 2 can do your pre-mix and go.

But it is about anything gas powered and nudging it to stop or use something else.

My guess is GE has a line of battery powered yard tools ready to launch or GM does....
