Romney Supporters Clash With Protesters In Florida

SARASOTA, Fla. — Supporters and opponents of Mitt Romney faced off outside of the Republican nominee's rally here in an at-times-violent confrontation.

As hundreds of Romney supporters lined the sidewalk outside the Ringling Museum of Art, a group of more than 20 protestors carrying an effigy of Romney marched in and confronted them as both sides chanted.

One of the men leading the protest, organized by Occupy and Move-On according to demonstrators, repeatedly cut into the Romney line — drawing pushing and shoving.

“Get a job, I worked my 50 years,” shouted one Romney supporter at the demonstrators.

One man, wearing a yellow Manatee County Tea Party t-shirt squeezed the back of the protest-leader's neck, as other Romney supporters surrounded him.

After 20 minutes, the protest leader laid out a red carpet over several protesters and the man in the Romney costume walked over them. The leader then crowned "Romney" as the "King of the 1%," commanding the Romney supporters to bow before their leader.

"We don’t get paid to support out candidate,” shouted one woman.

“I’m proud to be one percent. I built everything I have," said the man next to her, also jeering the protest.

Think it's violent now, just wait...if the kenyan wins another term, I think conservatives will do more than just type about their disapproval.

The Kenyan must go.

Where were the police for this. This was not peaceable assembly, but disruption and confrontation.

“HAEVENS”? It’s like I wrote before, Democrats have no immune system defense against stupidity. It spreads through them like wildfire. The CDC needs to issue them a warning.

But theyre ok with Obama flying to Vegas to meet and greet campaign donors who can afford the 5 figure entry fee.

I was at the rally today. There were police everywhere. I missed this bit of excitement, but it was a handful of protesters, 1 guy with a bull horn yelling stupid stuff. Moveon.org woman was the nastiest and angriest. The bull horn guy was obsessed with homosexuality, he kept accusing people in line of being gay and hiding it from their families. The main crap I heard before and after the rally was about Mitt releasing his tax returns. There were some protestors inside the rally that screamed about tax returns.

It was really pretty lame and Romney supporters just laughed at them, mocked them, and told them to get a job. We yelled that if they wanted to see what a tax return looked like, they should get a job and file one. Hee Hee.

News is reporting a few hundred supporters....LIE.....there were many THOUSANDS. Traffic was a nightmare. I waited in line over an hour to get into the rally.

It was hotter than H*LL but the crowd was wound up and Romney gave a good speech. He got alot of loud applause and cheers.

Clash? This wasn’t a clash: they all left with the same number of teeth they came with.

My theory, consistent with your call to action, is that LIEberals have never had to suffer the consequences of their hateful words or bullying activities.

IOW, they have never had a can of whipass opened on them.

I agree with you — smacking down a LIEberal just might cause him/her to be somewhat more circumspect in their words & actions.

I bet that the man in the yellow shirt was actually a member of The Obama-Soros financed OWS.......................... Naaaah, he was one of the Tea Party folks just trying to get the other guy’s attention. I would like to see the scene unedited before I accuse anyone. Judging from the looks of all the cameramen, I don’t think they were there to support Romney. I missed it if it was on the news, and we live in the Venice Sarasota area.

I think we’re going to see more street battles w/ the brown shirts attacking real USAians. If you don’t know what a brown shirt is, I suggest you read up on the rise of the National Socialists in Germay during the 1930’s.
