Newt coming to Missouri Monday in support of Todd is great news!! Newt should be able to give Todd a significant boost to his campaign against McCaskill. By throwing his support behind Todd and physically being in Missouri sends a much needed signal to all Missourians that he has a highly recognized and proven conservative leader behind him. Missouri voters, if they had the chance to vote for Newt instead of having a caucus do it for them, would have given Missouri to Newt. I am hopeful that Newt can also draw in much needed donations for Todd by his appearance Monday.
I have had a feeling all along that Missourians will remember how Claire sold us out to Obama and do the right thing come Nov. 6th. If Newt targets all his attention to helping Todd in these final days by helping Todd attack the Obama clone (McCaskill), he will win big and give us a true conservative Senator for Missouri.

The GOPe should NEVER have made a public statement that they would pull funding. That put them in a corner. Now if they do restore funding it's ammo for the left.
Stupid, stupid GOPe!

Sarah Palin should retract her early statement for Akin to drop out as well. Sarah jumped the gun on this one. She needs to apologize and start backing Todd. Funding would also help.

If Akin wins he is owed a huge apology...
...if he loses and it results in two more years of Boss Reid—he will be damned for all time.
Either result will be his personal responsibility alone.
Having said this, GO AKINS! STOMP THAT OBAMA TOOL!

Akin has a fundraiser with Newt Gingrich scheduled for Monday and also just launched a new ad and Web site on womens issues. His campaign also sent a fundraising e-mail Thursday morning attacking National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-Tex.) for deserting his campaign. (Sample:
the Washington insiders and Party Bosses were wrong about Rubio, wrong about Rand Paul, and theyre just as wrong about Todd Akin.) These are not the moves of someone who is about to succumb to the pressure.

Agreed! In fact Sarah hasn’t been doing much of anything recently.
Meanwhile a Tea Party near Pittsburgh the other day had over 500 attendees. Some estimates put it at 800 and that in a heavily democrat/union area.

The article has the tone of a funeral dirge. I call agitprop. The thing that really horrifies the WaCompost is that he might well win the seat in spite of their sage words.

It is becoming easy to see how the “Akin effect” has faded; just look at warren now down 6 vs Brown in Mass. with a sample of 55% Democrats.

I agree. It’s rare that Sarah makes a political mistake, but I think she did here.

God has spoken: Todd is running, said one Missouri Republican strategist, granted anonymity to speak candidly. Our loins are girded. Godspeed, Todd Akin! Todd is on track to win the Missouri Senate seat!

I have had a feeling...That's not enough to win an election and it sounds like famous last words.

Now she is making personal mistakes as well, saw her on Hannity last night. The dark hair and fake tan weren’t becoming IMO.

This entire episode is ridiculous. If the voters there are too stoopid to know what they want, they get what they deserve. Unfortunately, the rest of the Nation gets that consequence as well.

I whacked my plastic for Akin on Sunday. Todd Akin, aside from his unfortunate utterance about rape, which by the way, USED TO BE TAUGHT IN SOME NURSING SCHOOLS, is a good man and iron clad pro-life. I’m really pleased to see Newt step up and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him.

I got a fundraising call yesterday from the NRSC. The guy started on his usual speal about how we need four seats, so I cut him off and asked if the NRSC had started funding Todd Akin’s campaign yet. He said no, and I started yelling at him, telling him how John Cornyn wouldn’t bat an eye to fund Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist, Olympia Snowe, Lisa Murkowski, etc. but Akin was cut off without a cent for saying something stupid. I told him in no uncertain terms to pass the message along that I wanted conservtives to be supported, not worthless moderates, then hung up. It felt really good!
