Iran accused Germany's Siemens on Saturday of implanting tiny explosives inside equipment the Islamic Republic purchased for its disputed nuclear program, a charge the technology giant denied.

Wait ‘til the Iranians find out that everything that comes in despite sanctions has been dunked in pig’s blood.

Thanks Fennie.

I remember watching a 60 Minutes episode, when the Libyans were trying to get nukes, and bought parts on the black market to get their program going.

They ended receiving basically junk for the money they sent. The 60 Minutes interviewer asked them what they did when they realized that they received junk?

The Libyan official replied, “What could we do?”

To be fair, Siemens is one of the last outfits I’d buy reactor parts from. They can’t even get their domestic reactors right - the Siemens nukes in Germany are notorious for their design screwups and lack of quality.

I wouldn’t want to live anywhere near a Siemens nuke, but they’re still slightly better than the gas-cooled reactors the Brits built.

Siemens denies selling anything to Iran, by the by, the explosives allegation is never addressed in the only copy of the press release I could find online. They say they've not done any business with Iran since 1979.

Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if they bought parts they thought were coming directly from Siemens... Not exactly items they can buy off the shelf, as it were. But an intelligence shop buying the parts from Siemens then doctoring them with explosives seems somewhat likely.

Positive. Though I don’t recall the name of the interviewer, I cannot forget the Lubyan’s answer to that question as it gave me a chuckle.

Hard to believe there has been no business contacts between the Mullahs and Siemens since 1979.
Siemens is surely still doing business with the Iranians.
After all, business is business and the Germans along with a myriad of other countries and firms are still selling the Iranian what they want.
It might be though that Siemens is working in tandem with INTEL agencies sabotaging their equipment and or involved in the SUXNET virus as well.

Why are the Iranians complaining... Siemans was being helpful by including within these parts the Iranian’s intended final product.

It was industrial control equipment made by Siemens that were targeted by Stuxnet.

Good equipment BTW.... I don’t blame them for the holes in their firmware, it’s almost impossible to harden such equipment against genius level hackers.

I dont think that seimens really wants to be an accomplice to a second holocaust. IIRC, Seimens was big during WWII as sort of the ‘haliburton’ of the concentration camp industry. Recently they also attempted to brand a product ‘zyklon’ (nothing to do with the original B) before someone pointed out to them ‘bad idea’.

Everyone knows that the Juice run Siemens. If they were buying parts on the black market, I would not in the least be surprised if they were getting their parts through a MOSSAD front. I would be surprised, flabbergast actually, if MOSSAD were not attempting to infiltrate their supply train.

Is that where that scene from Back to the Future came from, where the Libyans are after Doc Brown because he “took their plutonium and in turn gave them a shiny bomb case filled with used pinball machine parts” ?

Don’t remember back to the future, but my memory is quite clear on the Libyan story.
