Broward County School Board members on Wednesday are expected to approve a formal resolution in support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month, which takes place every October.
The LGBT History Month tradition, started in 1994 by a Missouri high school teacher, has previously been recognized and promoted by a wide assortment of politicians, including members of Congress and Mayor Michael Nutter of Philadelphia. In all of Philadelphia’s municipal buildings, for example, a rainbow flag is flown alongside the U.S. flag every October.
Honoring gay history within the realm of K-12 education is still a groundbreaking (and potentially controversial) public statement. Unlike California, which last year added LGBT history to the state’s education curriculum, Broward’s resolution is nonbinding, and largely symbolic.
The resolution seems to leave the door open for schools to voluntarily promote LGBT History Month, if they so choose.
“Administrators, teachers, staff, parents and students are encouraged to take part in LGBT History Month in any way that is most positive and uplifting to their schools and communities,” the proposed resolution states. “And to coordinate efforts to highlight exemplary role models from the LGBT community.”
It is very sickening. I am afraid of how much more sickening it will become.

I have better memories like not starting school till first grade age six and some parents opted for waiting till age seven for their kids to start school. That was back when parents had a lot to say as to what went on in schools. I'm 55 and schools in my area did not have kindergarten. Now they have kids at school at four years old and some are pushing to start kids at three. We live in a society that frowns on removing kittens and puppies from their mothers too early but wants kids removed from parents & sent into state ran institutes as soon as possible.
Oh yay. Another Official Child Abuse Month.
Its time to head down to the local school board with AKs and ARs in any district that tries to distort normal kids with this sewage.
Because Children need to know who adults sleep with.

Can easily be integrated into Math, Science, History, Literature, etc. if the teachers are creative enough. Example: Math: 2 queers + 1 sheep = ? Science: If Johnny has 2 mothers, occasional sleep over transvestites and no father, how was Johnny created? History: If George Washington wore whigs, was he our first gay president?
Nope! Speeches by drag queens and male prostitutes and field trips to gay bathhouses and bars.

I went to kindergarten at five, where we learned our colors and alphabet, took a nap (rest) in the afternoon on our towel, and awoke to graham crackers and milk.
Broward County, huh? I used to work for a conservative Republican Representative from Broward County when it was still sane. Then the Democrats came in and tookover and it has been a shithole ever since.
If there are Cuban refugees there in any number, I think that this LGBT week/month/year will go down in flames, possibly real ones (ever hear of Alpha 66?). The same for Orthodox and Conservative Jews (forget the Reform Jews, they are just the Jewish version of Unitarians).
Catholics should be up in arms over this proposal as well as other normal Christian groups. Moslems would really be UP IN ARMS over this if they follow Sharia Law. Peaceful Moslems would just be pissed off.
This is the perfect issue for Romney and Mario Rubio to jump on and I suspect that it would get them more votes than they would lose, as most LGBT supporters are Democrats anyway.
I suspect that the Broward County School Board is going to be needing new members very shortly, and they will have to pay for their own insurance policies.
This could be the spark that turns/burns Florida over to Romney and kicks Charlie Crist’s turncoat ass out of Florida politics forever.
Local GOP and Tea Party organizations should jump on this like a tick on a dog (or in this case, a JackAss) and run with it all the way to the election booth.
If the RNC/GOP doesn’t join in, screw them. Time to take local educational policies back from the loony Left and restore some sanity to our schools, as well as to protect our youngest children from this PC, Rainbow-colored BS.
If my granddaughter’s school ever tried this crap, I would walk right up to the office and let them know the errors of their ways, and I wouldn’t have bothered to open any doors when I entered. (Just call me the human equivalent of the Marine Corps mouse in the maze). They would learn a new meaning of “WTF” as part of my program to reintroduce the alphabet to them.
There are enough weird programs in colleges and even high schools to screw up our kids. We must not let it get to the Middle School/Junior High School and Elementary Level.
I’m all for tolerance but this idea goes way beyond “tolerance” to the point of sheer stupidity and sexual indoctrination.

It will be field trips to the White House, with speeches by hookers (White House staff and Democrat congresspeople), pimps (Bill Clinton), and the very weird education “czar” who is a supporter of NAMBLA (think his name is Arne).
Then it will be a trip to the biggest whore house in the country, the U.S. Congress, where too many politicians can be bought for “tricks”.
However, the kids should also meet the “media whores”, so a trip to NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and MSNBC is next. Gregory, Anapour, Couric, Andrea Mitchell, Brian Williams, etc. are jut waiting to prostitute themselves for a story or a White House visit.
Then the kiddies can go visit the National Education Association, the AARP (billions of dollars to come in from Obamacare), Goldman Sachs, to see the real pimps of society.
After a day of that kind of real education, these kids will be begging for home-schooling and a little God in their prayers, or just prayers, per se.
Hey kiddies, wait till next year. Then we bring real hookers and “johns” (i.e. politicians) directly into your classroom for first-hand instruction. You’re gonna love it. So put away your Bible, Dr. Seuss and the Barenstein Bears, have we got a show for you.
This reminds of that New Jersey elementary school that was teaching the youngsters to sing praises about obama. It is really depressing what parents let their childrens schools do. There was also another elementary school in New York, that changed its name to obama elementary.
