Politics is a dirty business, but do the major media outlets need to be part of that 'dirty business', and do the major media outlets need to be more honest in their own selective editing?
The admission of mistakes and just plain lies which President Obama made to 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft somehow wound up on the cutting room floor during editing. That seems to indicate a functional bias of omission by CBS, as in the ongoing discussion at this DJ blog posted by sumdume. The 'sin' of omission in editing is seemingly the most difficult to deduce is happening, since the action of quantifying a null value is impossible until it's known that a value is 'missing'

BINGO!!
Greetings F15Eagle:
When pundits say “0bama needs to appeal to his base,” they understand the Fourth Estate IS 0bama’s base.

How do we even know what was left on the floor?
“CBS”? Does that mean, “Continuous Bull Shite”?
Bump
There is nothing mainstream about the MSM.
A more accurate term would be the Corrupt Liberal Media or CLM.
“Corrupt” being the operative word here.
Liberalism has killed journalism.
in this case they posted the clip on their website.
YUP, they write what they are told
heh
For those of us who are 60 Minutes intolerant, is there a side-by-side video where we can compare the clip posted on that website to that which was aired?
I didn’t watch 60 Minutes. Did that whole clip not air?
The cynic in me can’t help but think that if they posted this, it’s a diversion from something even worse.
Tonight, CBS aired a 60 Minutes interview with President Obama. But curiously enough, the news magazine show did not air a clip of Obama admitting to interviewer Steve Kroft that some of his campaign ads contain mistakes and that some even "go overboard." ... "Look, the fact-checkers have had problems with the ads on both sides," Kroft says to Obama in the unaired clip, "and say they've been misleading and in some cases just not true. Does that disturb you? I mean, some of them are your ads." Obama responds: "Do we see sometimes us going overboard in our campaign, are there mistakes that are made, areas where there is no doubt somebody could dispute how we are presenting things? You know, that happens in politics." SOURCE:cbs-nixes-clip-of-obama-admitting-campaign-mistakesBarack Hussein Obama II went on (my paraphrasing) to say: "But tuh election is so important and.... I am Barack!" |
