Think because your a middle class worker your Federal taxes won't increase next year - think again.
That 70% increase on taxes for the working poor hits you, just not as hard. Yes, you still stay at 15% but the poor tax hits you for $870 or about $72 dollars a month.
Not only this, but the Social Security tax reduction expires this year as well. So you will get socked with an additional 2% as well. That's a minimum of $348 or $29 more dollars a month.
That's $101 dollars a month less for you or your family.
Put it this way. How will you feel about the Democratic US senate that let this happen; walking away from their duties to pass a budget and not sock the poor (and you) with more taxes before an election.
Perhaps you will let the Democrats know how you will feel.
Oh and the maximum Middle Class tax hit is just about $200 a month.
Oh Joy
/Sarcasm OFF
Also, Obamas plan only offers Lower rate Bush tax cut extension for 1 year for the middle class.
Obama also promised their wouldn't be a middle cut tax increase, but yet it's $102 a month more minimum.
Be sure to thank him at the polls!

What is the “poor tax”?
Read the article again: "That 70% increase on taxes for the working poor hits you, just not as hard."
Oh, and “the working poor” is one of Obama’s phrases that I stole.
Read the article again: ...WHAT article?
There is one tax that will hit all home sellers due to Obama care also. If you sell your home after Jan 1 2013, there will be a 3.8% “tax” on the sale, right off the top!
We need to REPEAL Obamacare.......just saying
My article in the post.
Yes, but Obamacare has a nasty surprise in 2014 and 2016. $95 dollars in 2014 (for those making just over $9500) and $675 in 2016.
If Obama is elected, he will eliminate medical insurance for Government healthcare (his single payer goal).
But what's really nasty is the 70% tax increase on the working poor. It's immoral.
LLS
The Democratically led US Senate (led by Harry Reid) not only failed to pass a required Federal Budget for the Xth time in a row, but left in place Tax Increases for 2013.
Those tax increase will hit every working American with higher taxes next year and especially on the working poor.
For the working poor, their Federal tax will increase from 10% to 15% (a fifty percent increase) and their Social Security tax will increase by an additional 2%.
I should say Obama's 'working poor' will receive a Whopping tax increase left under his leadership (really a lack thereof). Especially his lack of care for the poor.
Am assuming you mean out of the United States.
This is the tragedy of increasing taxes so much, it drives employers (the rich) away from the US. We have the highest business taxes in the world right now and businesses (and the rich) are making their moves now.
Business has to compete, so on a global scale, that mean moving to less taxation and regulation where possible. When the competition does - you do or die.
We have no choice but to stay. These are my plans to minimize my taxes:
We are getting a paper divorce to bypass the marriage penalty.
I am doing not a whit of extra work.
I am not picking up the slack for anything the government does not do i.e. no contributions in money or work for service organizations (sorry, got to put the pressure on from somewhere).
Any hint his excellency plans to grab the IRAs in any fashion, I will immediately close them out and convert the money to some foreign currency, probably Canadian where I can go visit it.
I’ve paid my taxes every year, every dime, and did my service to the government in the Army. The way I look at it, I owe it nothing and it owes me nothing and that is the way I want to keep it. BTW, this is not the America I fought for.
There is a large middle class tax increase this year, 2012. Tha alternative minimum tax exemption drops to $45,000 for married couples. I’m seeing pretty large tax increases for the middle class in my 2012 projections.
The only way it does not happen is if Congress acts before the end of the year. A few weeks ago, someone told me that there are 435 imbeciles in Washington. I told him that he was short by exactly 102. He forgot about the senate, the Veep and the Prez.
OK. You confused me with the “yes, you stay at 15% but...” in the OP. I thought that maybe there really was a “poor tax”. Nothing surprises me anymore.
>>But what’s really nasty is the 70% tax increase on the working poor. It’s immoral.
Obama doesn’t care. He’ll blame that on the GOP and the Lefitst lapdogs in the media will shout it from the rooftops. He knows that he can get all the support he needs from the media and academia for The Big Lie and the uneducated Dumb Masses will believe it.
Everything he does is immoral. Actually its beyond immoral. Its evil. We used to destroy evil in this country. Now we apologize for offending it or elect it president.

Bzzzzt! What?
(Which is it - you're or your for the 1st and 2nd use in that sentence?)
