In July, the Murray Energy Corporation announced that it would be closing an Ohio coal mine. Fifty-six people were still working at the mine, which had employed 239 in its heyday. Some of the employees would be transferred to other positions in the company, but that meant new people wouldnt be hired to fill those positions.
President Obama is responsible entirely for the closure of that mine and the loss of those jobs, Murray Energy Corporations founder and CEO, Robert Murray, a major Republican donor, told CNN in August.
The many regulations that he and his radical appointees and the U.S. EPA have put on the use of coal . . . have closed 175 power plants, Murray added.
In the 2008 campaign, Obama told the San Francisco Chronicle that the notion of no coal . . . is an illusion, but he added that he favored a cap-and-trade system. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, Obama continued. Its just that it will bankrupt them because theyre going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas thats being emitted. In 2007, Joe Biden told Grist.org, I dont think theres much of a role for clean coal in energy independence in the United States though he added that he favored cleaning up Chinas coal plants.

It’s invariably the case that, in a communist society, the commissars order the proles to live in a manner the commissars, themselves, would never consider.
The White House will be toasty warm throughout the autumn, thank you, and there’s a plum retirement villa waiting in tropical Hawaii for The Anointed One in the event he is discharged in November,
If not, of course, then you may take it as written that the White House thermostats will be set to “cozy amd comfy” all winter.
This will help us in coal states.
Considering the economic situation in Ohio and Pennsylvannia, the Republicans should be sweeping those states. The Republican messengers are so inept, they couldn’t sell water in the Sahara. Yes the media is biased, but this is 2012 and there are numerous ways to get a message out without having it filtered by the dinosaur media. Romney isn’t even trying.
Romney has about a week to start fighting, or he could easily lose what should be a cake walk. Obama is imploding, and we aren’t capitalizing on it.
Nothing’s going either way until the debates. 1st is in a week.

What makes this all bad, and enables it to work for the morons is how Coal is ‘black’ in color. Makes it so much easier to demonize for the foolish masses, because of appearance. (just as they do with “assault weapons)
If Coal were the color Pink, or some lighter shade such as White, no one would think anything of it.
Instead, it’s all dirty looking, and has to be all bad.
Same here in neighboring WV. Here voters have the option of voting a straight ticket, either D or R. While the state has gone Republican for President for the last three elections - and will again this November - the Republicans hold NO statewide office. People are splitting their tickets already, but the WV GOP has been letting this opportunity slip away.
Excellent point, and (I think) both true and insightful.
If coal were pink, the people would be all for it.
The more battleground states and competitive Congressional districts the merrier!
