With Superior Ground Operations, Obama Widens His Lead In Ohio By Holly Bailey, Yahoo! News
BEDFORD HEIGHTS, OhioFor Mitt Romney's campaign, the location was nothing more than a friendly business that had agreed to host a rally to promote the candidate's policies toward small businesses and manufacturing.
But it was hard not to view Romney's midday appearance at American Spring Wire, a company that makes wire that bounces back into place, as a possible metaphor for the candidate's electoral hopes in this crucial swing state.
"It goes right back to where it started," Romney told a crowd of several hundred people here, explaining how spring wire works.
He's hoping the same can be said of his race in this state. The Republican candidate's impromptu tutorial came as a series of new polls found that after months of a close race here between President Barack Obama and Romney, the GOP's chances in Ohio appear to be slipping away.
A New York Times/CBS News/Quinnipiac poll released on Wednesday found Obama leading Romney among likely Ohio voters by 10 points, 53 percent to 43 percent. It came on the heels of a Washington Post poll released on Tuesday that found Obama besting Romney by 8 points in the state.
They were the third and fourth polls in a row to find Obama expanding his lead in the Buckeye Statea move that prompted ABC News to change its projection of Ohio being a "toss up" state in November to one that "leans Obama."
As Romney spoke, Obama was campaigning on the other side of the state, holding his own rally at Bowling Green State University. There, the president lit into his Republican opponent, accusing Romney of wanting to gut education by giving wealthy Americans a tax cut.

The Romney campaign leaders like Ed Gillespie, Stuart Stevens, and Reince Priebus RNC Chair, as blue-blood Republicans have no clue on how to fight a blood and guts trench warfare game.
Sack this team, do a major campaign ad buy and enough of the economic graphs (its not working). Speak to gay marriage, booing God, and show images of burning embassies and coffins arriving , and you'd have the Reagan Democrats back on your side.
Yeah, this is why Obama is spending all his time in Ohio.
why do you believe the lame stream media reports???? People in Ohio say the ground game is on and he conservatives are out in force.
DOn’t panic and believe the lies. Just hunker down and work harder to make sure that O is defeated
I live in Ohio and can’t understand this at all. Why the hell anybody, except holder’s people, would vote for Obama is beyond my comprehension.
Rasmussen has it Obama 47%, Romney 46%.
Why are you selling the Kool Aid?
“RUSH: DON’T LET POLLS FOOL YOU”
I find it incredibly difficult to believe that the same electorate that voted for John Kasich, a Republican, and know that Ohio’s lot has improved because of HIS policies would turn around and vote for obama no matter what these polls show.
It's gotta be close or he wouldn't be there and neither would Romney.
Reince Priebus needs to go. What’s in a name? A BAD JOKE is what’s in his name. Seriously, replace that slurring slo-mo with someone sharp and QUICKLY to the point!
So you actually believe this? Quinnipiac has admitted their polling is skewed.
And, does anyone think the debates are immaterial? Look what the debates did in the primaries. If Romney performs like he’s capable of performing, it’ll seal the deal for everyone except the all-in leftists. Obama is NOT a good debater, and Romney isn’t a tired old man like McCain.
Consider the source? Yahoo?
I hope Newt is Romney’s debate coach!
If even conservatives can’t completely remain immune to the impact of liberal MSM and negative reporting, who can?
However the majority of Ohio voters are not in the inner cities, why would the vote for Obama? Stupefies the crap out of me.
Maybe they place the polling as they do now, to explain away the illegal alien and dead people votes on election day.

Huge Crowd Stands in Line in the Rain!

“OK, if you believe the polls, Mitt Romneys 10 points behind in Ohio. But then there are those people THOUSANDS of people who stood in line in the rain to get in to see Mitt this afternoon in downtown Toledo:”
Make sure you watch the video at the end of the updates.

Obama did seem to have superior ground organization that successfully knocked out Hillary’s campaign.
1. Demoralize many republicans into not voting.
2. Get the uninformed to join the Obama bandwagon, because the polls show him to be the more popular choice. "Gosh, why not vote for him, everybody else is".
I believe they’re feeding us these polls to convince their own lunatics that this election was stolen from Obama. I wholeheartedly believe that Obama wants blood in the streets. This goof wants revolution even more than he wants the presidency, I think.
” Get the uninformed to join the Obama bandwagon,”
Those would be the brain-dead, not uninformed. It worked back then, so do it again. This time, he doesn’t have a crappy slogan like Change so he’s toast.
Bunch of BS
So you show you are a gullible, easily fooled boob just like the typical Obama voter. Does that trouble you? Isn’t it extremely embarrassing to display those traits in full public view?
Romney is not Popeye gone wild...... John McCain has that Crusty old Pirate clinched teeth AHEEYYYYYY aurora about him.
They can’t do that or claim that if the election is not even close... a land slide like Reagan had would suffice.
What’s frustrating is that I know people who didn’t vote for Obama, but had hopes for him. They didn’t want to believe that he was a radical. And each time he says or does something to show his radicalism, these people get a little more disillusioned with him. But if you tell them that he really wants violence in the streets, they’ll still tell you that you’re crazy.
Maybe we’re wrong, maybe he’s not quite as bad as we’re making him out to be. But we certainly have good reason to suspect that he want chaos. And what’s really scary is the fact that so many people won’t let themselves even entertain the thought that might be true.
That’s what makes this seem like the 1930’s all over again. People deluding themselves about a World Leader, to some degree or another, with all different opinions about him, and only the so called “nuts” being right in the end.
It was Bowling Green AND Kent State, where the Undocumented Coffee Server did speak to a packed crowd. The colleges ARE the main democratic base.
Romney has 30 days or less, to prove beyond doubt,
1. That he’s not a front man for fascism, the few favored bought in to exploit the many,
2. That he’s not a front man for favoring the instigators of false financial instruments attempting to exploit and extort Americans assets and accounts as a deceptive form of bailout known, deceptively, as “Affordable Care Act”.
3. That he’s actually a candidate that, unlike his behavior in Massachusetts demonstrated, who knows how to use the checks and balances of the Executive Office.
Otherwise, it is HillaryRomney 08 vs, Undocumented Coffee Server revisited. Too many will be on to him by November.
Obsma is leading among registered voters with land lines who pick up calls from telemarketers without screening them and answer questions from strangers over the phone.
I don’t know anyone that stupid. Do you?
Yahoo is one of the main MSM online Obama campaign leaders. Everyday they have two or three of their five headline bars pro Obama, such as today’s: “Ohio’s looking like an Obama state”.
I read on another post that the GOP was leading in early voting.
Questions not under his control? That's a laugh. Just look at the MSM stars that are "moderating" the debates and tell me they aren't feeding the questions to the Obama campaign in advance, or even coordinating with the Obama campaign is their preparation. We will have representatives of PBS, ABC, CBS, and CNN moderating the four debates. What does that tell you?
Furthermore, Romney's 7% in Ohio are less than enthusiastic and may well stay home. There is a strong possibility that by November Obama will be poised to capture 100% of the Ohio vote.
That is pretty much guaranteed and is not conspiracy kook stuff. Romney and team must understand that his only chance to "surprise" The Serial Liar and make him think on his feet is with questions that Romney asks or facts he states.
2) I have seen NO EVIDENCE AT ALL in Dayton of an Obama "ground game"---no sign, no rallies, no walkers.
3) If there is such a bad Romney "ground game" then they are dong a helluva job in getting out the R absentee numbers WHICH ARE HEAVILY OUTPERFORMING 2008, while Obama is HEAVILY UNDRPERFORMING 2008.
Bingo. See my post 41.
I’m in PA, not Ohio, but this is the first time EVER that I have received an absentee ballot application in the mail. I thought that was interesting.
I think Cincy will go Romney. But it will depend on turnout.
Will you relax! This poll is abject CRAP!!! Do you really think Ohio is going to go Obama by a 10 point margin on his best day? Please!
They over sampled dems by 9 points!!!
Problem is, with all the early voting, many folks will have voted before they've had an opportunity to view/hear the debates. I heard Ed Rollins say, on the radio earlier this morning, that up to 40% will be "early voters" this time around (it was 33% in 2008).
Agreed. It is shocking how inept the GOP chairman is
I don’t have an opinion on his team but it’s the height of insanity for anyone to believe Obama has leads larger today than he won by in 08. Its not happening.
