Security Fears Hobble Inquiry of Libya Attack
New York Times ^ | Sept. 27, 2012 | By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK, ERIC SCHMITT and MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

BENGHAZI, Libya — Sixteen days after the death of four Americans in an attack on a United States diplomatic mission here, fears about the near-total lack of security have kept F.B.I. agents from visiting the scene of the killings and forced them to try to piece together the complicated crime from Tripoli, more than 400 miles away.

Investigators are so worried about the tenuous security, people involved in the investigation say, that they have been unwilling to risk taking some potential Libyan witnesses into the American Embassy in Tripoli. Instead, the investigators have resorted to the awkward solution of questioning some witnesses in cars outside the embassy, which is operating under emergency staffing and was evacuated of even more diplomats on Thursday because of a heightened security alert.

“It’s a cavalcade of obstacles right now,” said a senior American law enforcement official who is receiving regular updates on the Benghazi investigation and who described the crime scene, which has been trampled on, looted and burned, as so badly “degraded” that even once F.B.I. agents do eventually gain access “it’ll be very difficult to see what evidence can be attributed to the bad guys. . ."

Before the era of ethnic sensitivity we would call a mess like this a Chinese Fire Drill.

This is why terrorism should never be handled by the criminal justice system. It should be handled as what it is, a war on terrorism.

There is no such thing as a “security concern” that would prevent the marines from doing whatever had to be done

WTF is the FBI doing "investigating" an act of war?

Don't tell me that Ødumbo is going back to treating terrorism as a mere criminal matter...

So, it was okay for Christopher Stevens to be there on 9/11 but not the FBI now?

“Security Fears Hobble Inquiry of Libya Attack”

So, on September 11th, 2001, they got it all wrong by stating from the beginning that it was a “Terrorist” attack.

I mean, there had to have been greater “security” fears then than now....don’t ya think?

A tome will be produced, dissected, debated....all for the sake of putting time between an official announcement and the terrorist attack.

One can only loathe this present administration and the emasculation of Federal agencies, all to appease the pagan fertility ethos of the Great Whore and Islam, her army.

Alas Babylon...your time is short....and she knows it.

Well... The Embassy is American Soil. So the FBI would be investigating that. However, the building Stevens was being escorted to was a safe house. IIRC, the AQ Swat Team hit his vehicle and a second escorting vehicle, killed him, then took his body to the safe house. After tearing it up, other sympathetic locals 'found' the body in the safe house and took it on a parade through the streets (I mean, to the hospital). The 'swat' team disappeared into the night, having destroyed any info that would compromise the flow of money and arms. The trail was nipped in the blood, and the coordinated staging of protests across the Middle East and Europe was a planned cover.

This is my opinion based on a fairly thorough reading of the tons of articles, the videos, the statements from here, and the statements from over there, and threads here on FR, and merged all the bits and pieces that 'fit'. (which may not mean squat)

Is it the 'truth'? Doesn't matter, the proof is gone. For now. This particular group isn't the only one that have or are being supplied with 'support' by our 'government'.

By the time they think it is safe enough...screw the F.B.I, just call in and archaeologist. I would suggest Leakey if he were still alive.

All of our gov’t looks SO incompetent in this mess!

Is the F.B.I. able to investigate anything anymore? Their forté seems to be finding some crazy stooge to take a play-pretend bomb and then TA-DA! we saved America from a terrorist attack!

The Secret Service lets party crashers into a WH State dinner, leaves a gun on Romney plane, hires prostitutes, pee on grassy knolls during campaign speeches, get the Presidents car stuck on a dip in the road, posting on Facebook about ogling Palin, getting drunk, running over grandma and killing her. GAH!

So you think Stevens didn’t die of smoke inhalation in the safe house but instead was killed on the way there?

Maybe if everyone starts pointing out how stupid and incompetent the F.B.I, C.I.A., S.S. look, they will start talking to save face.

They need to do something because the world can see this and they look like ninnies! The F.B.I. is fearful of the little Al-Qaeda that is all but gone since Osama...or not.

America looks so French, the liberals should be thrilled!

This is obviously a cover-up NOT an investigation.

"All of our gov’t looks SO incompetent in this mess!"

That's assuming there was ever a real intent to investigate this assassination and not just a means to deflect inquiries by claiming their was an ongoing investigation and the Obamaites couldn't talk about specifics.
