Pat Caddell Says: Media Have Become “Enemy of the American People”
AIM ^ | September 27, 2012 | Roger Aronoff

Posted on 09/28/2012 5:52:41 AM PDT by opentalk

In remarks to the AIM conference, “ObamaNation: A Day of Truth,” on September 21 st , former Democratic pollster and analyst Pat Caddell said, “I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy.”

Caddell noted that while First Amendment protections were originally provided to the press so they would protect the liberty and freedom of the public from "organized governmental power,” they had clearly relinquished the role of impartial news providers.

...Caddell added that it is one thing for the news to have a biased view, but “It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know.”

....they have, then, made themselves a fundamental threat to the democracy, and, in my opinion, made themselves the enemy of the American people.

If a Republican were president, we’d be barraged with stories from Big Media concerning the attacked embassies and how the Pubbie president couldn’t handle foreign affairs. And they’d throw in the attacks were due to our terrible, arrogant foreign policy. But since it’s Obama in the White House, the lib media goes into COA mode. Once again, the media’s biggest sin is not the lies the print, but the truth they leave out.

I seem to recall you are in the ‘burgh area? one of the paralegals in my ofc here in DC is also from the burgh, as am i. her extended family still lives there and are all diehard dems. she and i, as the only conservatives in my ofc, frequently chat. She’d said her brother in Burgettstown could not bring himself to vote for obama again, that he’d stay home. Well yesterday she said she talked to that brother and he’s now voting for Romney. little anecdotes like this give me hope.

Chesterton saw this 100 years ago.

...we have almost up to the last instant trusted the newspapers as organs of public opinion. Just recently some of us have seen (not slowly, but with a start) that they are obviously nothing of the kind. They are, by the nature of the case, the hobbies of a few rich men. We have not any need to rebel against antiquity; we have to rebel against novelty...It will not be necessary for any one to fight again against the proposal of a censorship of the press. We do not need a censorship of the press. We have a censorship by the press.

This is nothing new. See Operation Mockingbird.

But now we have the internet where people can go to try to find the truth.

Admittedly, it can be difficult when the same people operate a internet disinformation campaign.

..Caddell added that it is one thing for the news to have a biased view, but “It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know

this is precisely where they have crossed the line the past generation...before that they were simply mostly biased

Hollywood same thing...mostly all agit prop

Advertising culture...same thing

it's brainwashing

Mona Charen was on Fox & Friends this morning talking about the media and how they control what the public hears about. For example, when Romney made his European trip, they ignored his being endorsed by Lech Walesa and the positive reaction he received in Poland and Israel, and spent all their time on his supposed gaffe in England and on one of his staff guys supposedly being rude to the press...so that the public would think the trip was a disaster.

Mr. Caddell’s remarks are quite damning — especially when one considers that he was once Jimmy Carter’s pollster (If I remember correctly)...

Glenn Beck is reporting-- NBC (morning Joe) news running an edited clip from Romneys campaign rally. To twist (make) a fake narrative.

people who were at the rally have called it out. MSNBC still running it.

Eventually companies, what’s left of them, will stop advertising since the viewers have no money to spend. When that happens the government will step in and it will become a truly stated owned media.

The media can either be a watchdog serving the people, or a lapdog serving the power-elite.

Guess which we’ve got? Time to put the ol’ dog down...

"The People," by the Constitution's own unamended provision, and by the words of Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, in his "Commentaries on the Constitution . . .," remain "the only KEEPERS" of the Constitution." As such, "the People" must and should demand that the media, including FOX, report on the total number of Executive Orders this President has put in place, their purpose and implications for freedom, and how that number compares to all his predecessors.

Such an action, in itself, might arouse a public outcry and bring about a new awakening of the dangers to liberty the "progressives" have brought upon America by cloaking and promoting this man for President.

Even during the worst of times, the Pravda people found clever ways to help people read between the lines. For the American MSM, there is no excuse and people know it. Historically speaking, traitors and collaborators tend to wind up paraded through the streets with shaved heads at best, and in front of firing squads at the worst. These people should be educated enough to know what could be coming. Just making an observation.

Caddell has been critiquing the 'Rat/Media Left for years now. And he is not shy about it. He knows full well what is going on.

I remember the MMF of the Old Media Walter Cronkite, asked in retirement if he missed his work, he said the thing he really missed was "setting the agenda."

Not breaking a big story. Not covering histor in the making. Not telling the truth to the American people.

Setting the agenda. He was talking about way back in the sixties, and ever after.

America faces three enemies:

1. Islamic radicals

2. Domestic radicals

3. The so-called mainstream media

And, of these three, the latter is the most dangerous. For, without the support of the MSM, the other two would've been defeated years ago.
