EAST BRIDGEWATER — A 31-year-old East Bridgewater woman who was trying to shoot a raccoon accidentally shot her self on Cape Cod late Wednesday night, authorities said.

I hope it was a low-power pellet gun. People have been killed by a shot between the ribs that penetrated deep enough to tear the pericardium. Blood collects inside and kills them. Do a search on 'pellet gun pericardium' for numerous stories.

Some time ago a local young girl was hit by a pellet and died the same way. A few years later, I met one of her brothers.
