CHULA VISTA, Calif. – A Border Patrol agent fatally shot a 32-year-old mother of five Friday in suburban San Diego as he rode on the hood of her car after she ran into him, authorities and family members said.
The agent fired after being driven several hundred yards on the hood, Chula Vista police Capt. Gary Wedge told The Associated Press. The woman was later identified in a police statement as Valeria Alvarado.

He did the right thing clearly from the facts available.

Now her kids will grow up hating Americans even more.
Yet another reason to not allow illegal-immigration.
Bad people doing bad things... then in the RARE instance they get what their actions deserve, you have a whole communities and families forever dedicated against our national interests.
There are NO good outcomes to allowing free-flowing illegal immigration of any kind.
If she was legal, well then chalk this up to a criminal being a criminal. Most families of criminals don’t hate the government/nation.
The families reaction will be very telling to her true motives.
I don’t care how much in shock you may be, if there is a man you DON’T intend harm to on the hood of your car, you don’t keep going and going, you stop and let them down.... unless you are a criminal or up to something no good.

My guess: She thought he was going to arrest her, so she freaked and tried to flip him off the car. Maybe she was stupid enough to not realize she could easily kill him doing that, maybe not. Evil woman? Stupid woman who watched too many movies where people walk away from being flipped off of cars? Reality bites.

Then she made a conscious decision to keep going and going, hoping for what exactly?

This close to the border (7 miles or less), if a man not wearing a uniform tries to stop your car, there are better than average odds that they are a violent criminal. Armed carjacking is a strong likelihood. I would hazard to guess that the agent is Hispanic as well.
And because other agents were in the immediate vicinity, it was even more likely she thought they were a gang. According to the story she grew up there, so she knew the place.
However, since she was moving, if he pulled a gun, she should have slammed on her brakes. Once he was off her car, she should have then sped off and headed to the nearest police station.
Was she protesting that mohammad film?
You cannot reason with irrational people.
Lots we don’t know and seems to be conflicting stories at the present time. Who knows what the truth is but hopefully it will be determined.....

Witnesses in the area at the time of the shooting told NBC 7 San Diego they saw Alvarado slowly driving in reverse as the agent opened fire on her at least six times.
“As the car was backing up the officer was in the street walking toward the car, and discharging,” recalled witness Prince Watson.
“I heard it, ‘Pow, pow,’ and just told my family to get down,” said witness Ayanna Evans.
Witnesses believe Alvarado may have accidentally struck the agent and panicked when he told her to stop and pulled out his gun.

Whose fault is that, the officer's whose life was in peril on the hood of the car, or the mother's whose actions put the officer in mortal danger?

The children range in age from 3 to 17.....
It will be the woman’s husband and both of their families.
